I've not contributed much here over the last year but had a 'big day' recently that's been one of my best.

i do love travelware. i had the same zero hallburton centurion. though, mine might have been a 24"? had the original turquiose interior. wasn't gonna ship it, so sold it locally. it was not easy and it was on craigslist for a long time... sliding down in price until all i got was $25. i was surprised.

the guy said he'd keep the interior, but it's now got a bunch of foam and expensive camera equipment in it as he's a professional photographer

i'd say its sad, but what else are you supposed to do with it? it's not exactly practical travelware anymore, eh?

Same story for me. I found a beautiful Zero Hallburton suitcase for peanuts. Ended up redonating it. Was down to $15 or $20 on Marketplace. No bites. Such a bummer. I've noticed since Covid, the whole travelware/luggage market changed, or maybe just trends. Orvis Battenkill and Duluth Pack duffles are another previously hot item that seems to have gone way down.

i still have decent luck locally with the "standard luxury" WHEELED stuff like Briggs & Riley Baseline and Tumi Alpha.

i'm guessing a Zero Halliburton briefcase is still valuable though.

Does anyone know of some 'worth it' thrifts in Pittsburgh?

Planning a trip to visit some Mac Miller spots in the new year and can't pass up a thrift or two.

I think Pittsburgh has the highest vintage/resale shops per capita, so I don't think you'll be hitting any gold mines.

My personal faves are Red White & Blue, and Thriftique.

I'll check those two out if time allows!

LMK what dates, although I'm not as flexible as I used to be pre-baby. Take that statement in any way you want, it applies.
