Anyone here do watch repair? I picked up a lot of vintage watches, none working. Mostly junk, but a few interesting mechanical watches (Longines, Elgin, Helios, etc) and a couple of quartz watches that aren’t complete junk. If I had the skill or tools to work on them I’d try to get them in working order, but not worth the money to pay a pro to do it. I may send the Longines in for repair, but other than that I’d be happy to unload them.

Not that experienced or kitted out yet, but I've been tinkering and cleaning up a few watches in the past year or two. I've never done a full tear-down and "service" cleaning, but have got a few "eBay non runners" working again and the crystals/cases cleaned up a little. I'm most familar with Seiko. I've got a basic set of tools but want to expand that soon to get into some more complex projects I've got stashed away.

Any old pocket watches? I hear that they're great for the beginning watchmaker as the movements are very similar to most watch movements you'll come across, just larger and easier to work on. Got any pics of the better watches you want to clean up? Maybe I should start a PM conversation.

If any sellers have ties they want to unload, I'm looking for wool and/or paisley/madder darker prints. I'd rather do business here than over eBay.

It may be, but i am not sure for 100%, anyway it was splendin blazer, fabric was shining with like silver colour when it was moving and fit was very nice too. Now some lucky person from Spain is enjoying it. :)

You looking for silk paisley/madders, or just wool ones? I know I have a few Hilditch & Keys and etc in my "Madders, Micros and Neats" tray but I think they're silk. Are you looking for any other patterned or solid wool or wool/cashmere ties? May have some of those too.. been looking to thin down some of my Tie stock actually.

Also I recall awhile back someone had posted a whole ton of misc. wool ties and stuff like that.. was it @capnwes ?

Not Loro, but this is hot enough: Filson 258 Rugged Twill Computer Bag just sitting there amidst a pile of cheap bags. $625 retail and this is NWOT. Thing is a beast, with all kinds of pockets, including file and laptop slots (not pictured). Boggles me that people donate this stuff, but I guess that's why we're all here . . . Going straight on the 'Bay in time for Christmas. Someone will buy it for him/herself, lol.

Have known about this brand for almost as long as I've been thrifting, just never seen a pair. "Jobmaster" style. Things weigh about 10lbs. Size isn't marked that I can find. They're slightly snug on me in length but really wide so I'd say 12-13EEE.

Not bad for $15. :sly:

I recently found a vintage Oxxford overcoat in vicuna on eBay with the label dating to 1967. The fabric is in reasonably good condition and would require some alterations if I would wear it out regularly.

I think I was just really curious about the fabric given its rarity and exclusivity. Upon receiving it, I can't really distinguish it from a high quality tan cashmere.
