Anything amazing to listen to or rare, music gurus? 145 tapes, based on the numbers on some of them I missed out on some or the store has more to put out...

I've only found two autographed books, true thrift, but they were, um, significant baseball finds. I keep thinking I'll sell the Mickey Mantle, but the Eddie Mathews and Hank Aaron signed book is staying put.

8 Tracks tend not to be collectable - they were never the best sounding, and the tape is really brittle after this many years - so if played they'll be constantly breaking and need to be spliced & re-spooled. Had a friend who was into them for a minute. Collectors might like the Bowie, Rolling Stones, etc. Selling as a lot might work well - it's a pretty solid collection.

If you're looking to play, just pick one at random - this is a great cross-section of the era, lots of different genres.

A good rule with 8-Tracks is anything that wasn't popular but went on to become highly revered can bring good money...The Stooges...Velvet Underground...The Ramones..The Sex Pistols....etc...any of those can fetch into the hundreds of dollars as artifacts for display not necessarily to be played.

When I find gear like this, I always think of someone LARPing at the capitol or a unite the right rally with them. I feel plastic pants are too loud to be useful hunting. Might be an unfair profile of the client for these things. (Not the hat, though that too I suppose.)

Almost had a oopS rekoP™ moment. I dumped a bunch of stuff with flaws, or just don't know why I bought- at a store across town that I almost never go to, and found most of it at my favorite stop a few days later. Had no idea there was so much cross pollination in my local stores. I pity the people that have a "central distribution" system in their area.
