Another ridiculous piece from Sunday’s haul. 1910’s-1920’s men’s bear(?) fur coat. Shawl collar. Toggle closures. Checked the pockets and found an old book of matches and the wrapper from a 16 Oz package of tobacco. I’m having a hard time reading the date on it, but looks to me like Oct 1944. Probably the last time this coat was worn...

Briefly worked at a liquor store in college and customers called Seagram's "nappy head" which I soon figured out was because of the textured bottle. The "400 Special" was a 1/2 pint of Seagram's, a bottle of juice and pack of Kool's for $4.00.
Newport’s was my **** for like 15 years, can’t believe how much cigarettes cost now, glad i quit

When I was a kid, anyone could buy tobacco products (no age restrictions). My father would send me to the corner store to buy 2 packs of cigarettes almost every day. He would give me a dollar and let me keep the change. I would buy the 2 packs of smokes AND a 16 oz (glass) Coca Cola with the dollar and still have a few cents to spare.

What I think it is...
One is unmarked military issue the other post war...
Odd fact I learned ,pre 1920 it was not allowed to put a watch maker name on a watch in England ,only the retailer.who changed that ,yep you guessed it ROLEX.

Mine:

That watch has seen some ****. Beautiful timepiece! I like that the caseback inside has scratched markings from what seems like multiple watchmakers over the years.

Edit*: God damn the open caseback gets me fired up.. If that was mine I'd use it as a launch into watch repair hobby, as it's not that complexed to take apart for a beginner but you still get to know all the parts of a basic movement.
