I was hoping for New Zealand (my MIL is from there, so my wife is eligible to apply for citizenship), but Canada will do for now. My preferred locale is Haines Junction, YT, so we compromised and went with the city where the wife went to University.

And the ability to get them quickly. In Canada, it appears that one has to wait for six weeks or more to buy a gun.

And I'm saying that as a long time Toronto resident ,hell I had a shooting three days ago literally one street up from me.
But at least I can rest easy knowing I can send my kids to school and have them come back or not get my head blown off getting milk.
And if I DID get my head blown off I wouldn't go bankrupt getting the hospital bill after getting patched up.

From a European perspective, US gun laws makes absolutely no sense. But this is not the right thread nor forum to discuss things like this

I recently spoke to a friend who has a brother that lives in NYC that got robbed. We basically concluded that between the hospital bill and belongings lost not to even mention the trauma of going through something like that... that we are very comfortable living here in the city. I call NY my second home but even as one of the more liberal states I couldn't live there.
