The easiest way to determine authenticity for LV is to look at the monogram pattern and check to see if the LV is cut off at any point, this only works to detect fakes of course, there are fakes with the correct pattern out there.
If it looks good? It's fake.
Thanks to all, the cut off LV is what made me think something was off. A friend at the bins almost bought it off someone for $150, the person selling it claimed it was from the 70's and "that's common for that era".

Took a gamble on these since it's not my wheelhouse. They looked nice and I liked that they had the original box. Untested. Audio guys, are they anything?

Not familiar with the Lenco although they look really nice and still have the box. I am familiar with the AKG’s and those are very solid. There is one particular model in this line that is very highly regarded. Should be able to find it with a quick search.

New e-thrift just arrived.
The shoes are Carlos Santos Goodyear welted. The precious owner had tongue pads inserted and after removing them, they fit very well. The uppers hade som creasing but no cracks and the soles and heels still have a few more seasons in them before it is time for a resole. Paid 450 SEK which is about 15% of retail price.
The shirt is a thin, super soft denim shirt from Barba Napoli's Dandylife collection. The collar has seen better days but it is still useable. Paid 210 SEK which is below 10% of retail price.
Both are for personal and fit just fine! Very happy with my acquisitions.

Here are a few bits and pieces from yesterday's auction activity. One purchase was an entire wardrobe, in three lots. Buggers separated out all the pants from the suit jackets and put them on a separate rack, so I had to buy all the damn pants ($20 for the entire rack, tho) to make sure I didn't end up with orphans.

The guy had a solid trad wardrobe, mostly from Larrimor's in Pittsburgh: lots of BB and Nick Hilton (that I won't post here), but here are of a few of the other jackets, beginning with four Southwicks, 3 SC, 1 suit.

Burberry leather Harrington, vintage, incredibly soft leather, like glove leather, and a perfect patina. I'd have kept this if it was my size.

So while this buyout included a bunch of stuff I wouldn't normally kop at thrift, it was worth it to nab 150 pieces of flippable inventory for around a buck PPU. We shall see how it works out. I had only 23 discards from the whole lot, largely all the crap he bought after retirement (Dockers/Roundtree pants, agh). Funny how auctions go, though: I got outbid early on by another flipper on the box of shoes from the same wardrobe (mostly J&M and AE) that I would have paid $20 for. It went almost to $100. Go figure. 12B width too. And someone else paid nearly $100 for 20 BB ties. Eh? Oh, that's right, there was one Tiffany in the group. That must be it.

On the way back home, ducked into one thrift that usually delivers, and sho 'nuff . . .

Shoes: almost new (they don't look it) Varvatos slipper loafers, Braganos, 'Gamo with snake vamp inserts, Italian handmade woven slipper loafers for Belvedere.

There are some things that always show up in multiples: Hermes ties, suspenders and this time, bow ties. Savers' checkout clerk: "Are you a bow tie guy?" "Nope, never worn one, never plan to". All PS on the left and PRL on the right, except for the bottom two RTs.

OK, back to auction stuff: a lot of three mirrors, including a mid-mod handmade one in the shape of a scallop shell that should do well on Chairish . . .

And this cool piece from Thyssen Keramik in Denmark showing all the signs of the zodiac, and with a candle holder on each side. Should get $500. The third is a kinda curlicue brass thing, but the glass is shot. A throwaway, most likely, but we'll see.

Four flats of hand-made Navajo kachinas for $15 a flat. I got a fifth flat filled with rattles, peace pipes and the like, but "her ladyship" made off with those before I could even photograph them. This is the issue with "yes, honey, you get first dibs on everything". Might have to alter that policy.

And finally, to match the sea-urchin lamp I bought a couple weeks back, a vase of identical construction. I did some research on this stuff, and it turns out the "leaves" are made from shaped coconut wood, and these items were part of a collaboration by Palecek and National Geographic a while back. Going on Chairish.

OK, better take a week off and catch up . . . Happy hunting out there, gang!

This shirt is pretty neat. Not sure how quick it will sell but it's incredibly high quality. Snatch it up if you see it! Also, any help dating PRL with talon zips? View attachment 1462306View attachment 1462307View attachment 1462308View attachment 1462309
Anachronorm is coveted stuff.
I got some pentz here waiting to be shortened.
Way better quality than is required for clothing. But i guess now you know too. ;)

There is a whole shopping list of small brands to look out for. some with ridiculous quality.
so to not piss off the regulars, you can pm me for what i can remember.
