Just dropping in like Viper to say hey. (And it actually is 110 here).

While thrift stores are the last place I'm going to step into during this pandemic (especially being in the dumpster fire that is Orange County) I thought you might enjoy this find from simpler times late last year...

The Seiko 6105-8110, most famous for being the watch Martin Sheen wears in Apocalypse Now. This one dates to September 1971. That shot isn't the most flattering, but for its age, the case/bezel is in great condition.

Thankful for that ugly stretch bracelet, as that's what probably made people not look twice at it in the case. Shook it a few times and it fired right up. That little speck of paint in the 0 at 40 came right off, and she cleaned up nicely. Threw it on a different strap and have been wearing it ever since.

I'll go back to my troll hole now.
Amazing.
Some.of you might think this is a just another cool vintage Seiko.
These fetch thousands now.

Alright bike guys, this one is out of my wheelhouse. How’d I do for $12?

Alright relax time, I can fill you in on it.

Pretty sure this is a DK "Legend" '96-'98
Looks like a frameset built out.
DK stem inverted
S&M Slam Bars
S&M seat
Odyssey Black widow 1st gen cranks
Odyssey Battle gear? sprocket
Odyssey T-1000 Rims
Crupi? Hubs
Odyssey A-Brake?

That is an example of what a "BMX Plus!" Yearly dream build give away bike would look like.
- The very best of everything. But somewhat of an "Indie" build from the time. with atypical frame/parts choices.
Stunning find.

Everyone needs a BMX kicking around. I say keep it. but if you sell? Ask top dollar, and don't take less than $1,000 for it. Unless selling to a friend/member.

More pics?

Shit I was stumped @impuntura when you first posted the lens, but I got you! Just figured out the first pair are “Juan Pablo Montoya” Oakley Splice
Are those Oakleys from his Indy or F1 days?

JChong...that would have been my assumption. That makes the glasses 15 plus years old.....very cool find.

The most desirable and collectible Oakley are mostly around that age. 1997 to around 2005. The problem was like a lot of other brands, Oakley sold their company to the Luxxotica umbrella. Like Ray Ban...their quality dipped and a lot of outsourcing overseas to China for production. Their innovation and outside the box way of making products was what set them apart but that suffered after the takeover. Oakley is such a cool brand and it’s roots were built around those times. The X Metal line was an attempt to build glasses that are like tanks but also a sculpted piece of art.

JChong...sadly there aren’t many companies that once purchased by a larger parent that have fared well. But there are countless examples of them fading away.

I don't know the brand, but it says "Sergeant's" on the top face.

Under the red star, it says "17 stones".

And the words across the bottom read "Made in the USSR".

Any photos of the back?
Nothing on the back but a 6 digit number beginning with a 3.
