I've listed some random stuff locally on Craigslist. One is a vintage skateboard I'm pretty sure I can get around $150+ for on eBay, but don't want to deal with it.

I listed it for $145. I'd take $100. Dude responds he'll give me $20 and I should bring it to him. I ignore it. He emails again that his offer still stands.

I had some pretty smart assy things to say, but just chose "no". I'm guessing some people think sellers are suddenly desperate given the pandemic?

Over the last 15+ years, craigslist has been good, but the crazy lowballs are new to me. I mean what planet are you on where you think someone is gonna knock 87% off the price... And hand deliver it to you?

Finally got a run down to Phoenix to pick up some stuff from an auction, and was able to run into a couple favorite spots that were open short hours.

Footwear, and top left is a pair of Ariat's "official" bull riding boots by Adriano Moraes. Then AE Byrons, Bally formal and PRL Made in England suede tassel loafers. C&J?

Faconnable suede safari, and a hand-made safari-style piece by Elevée for AZ Cards wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Keeping that one. Looks unworn.
View attachment 1394853
BTW, if there are any Larry Fitzgerald fans here, there are about a dozen of his suits in that store. Likely 44 slim. Can proxy.

Summer shirt wardrobe? Check that one off.

And the obligatory PRL.

I got creeped out when I first started back in to the thrifts, but after three or four stints, have gotten more comfortable in an N95 and rubber gloves. First time out I could barely hack it, especially as it's unseasonably hot here, but I suppose we get used to anything . . . Happy hunting!

that 92 Jethro Tull shirt is pretty wild

Stores around here are starting to open back up, hit one store this morning with okay results but those are gonna sit in quarantine for a few days, so here is some more backlog

Story time-
Last summer I found like 15 bespoke English shirts (Turnbull & Asser, Henry Poole) all from the same guy who died recently, super recent 2012-2018. I hit the store I found them in everyday for 2 weeks after and the only other part of the donation I could find was a pair of gray wool pants from A&S (his name was in everything)-nothing else. Fast forward to February this year, I started to find some of the tailoring at another store in the chain about 40 miles away. At this point Ive found something from the donation at all six locations across the state over a 2.5 week period- only 3 full suits, which 2 have already been sold by @SpooPoker, whole buncha orphans

One local spot has reopened but I'm going to hold off on thrifting for as long as I can because co-morbidities (fat + asthmatic). Trying to drop a few pounds because I'm currently taking all of my medical advice from Dr. @noob in 89's posts in the Covid thread. In the meantime, here are some e-thrifts.

10x Minty Bvlgari 7-folds + 2x GV Medusa ties. (PPU $12 CAD shipped)

Meermin Chelseas (10.5 D), 70s C&J Opera Pump/Loafer Hybrid (7F UK I think), 2x DSquared2 (white ones are 41, others are 42), Lanvin cap toe sneakers (6 UK) and minty Maui Jim Lava Flow sunglasses (PPU somewhere between $20-25 CAD shipped)

thrifts in NH opened, but they are really focusing on hard goods more than clothes. I'm pretty certain that what is on racks is what is for sale atm. so I did a little retail therapy shopping. which turned out better than ok.

first a pic of most everything. left out a few items that were for me personally.

the blue suede boots are Chippewa Milford Chukka's. 6 pair in all. The Brown boots are Florsheim.

Starting with the row of jackets on far right, from top to bottom are Nobis Barry, Nobis Bailey, and a Sports Afield fishing vest.

the next row has 3 Pendleton Flathead Bigt Sky canvas jackets, and a Pendleton Vest.
:(

Next row is a Barbour Hagart jacket, and two Filson Palson Field jackets. the Barbour is a large. and the Filson's are XS :(

Last row has 2 Carver Mountain Hood jackets, and a Schott Nylon A-1 Serpant Embroidered jacket.

Last were 3 of these Carhartt shackets.

PPU was $18.50. I was unfamiliar with Nobis as a brand, but they seemed ridiculously well constructed and retail in the $500 and up range. Reached out to a couple of the Canucks on here, and got feedback that there stuff is on par with Canada Goose. The two I grabbed were $20 each, they had a half dozen more on clearance marked $129, so in the cart they went. The most expensive item was the Barbour, followed by the Filson's. Everything else was $20 or less.

Masamoto Not sure it's the same model, but the inscription matches. I saw the tuna merchants cut big bluefins up with this type of knife at the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, before it closed.

Estate sale last week. Guy had owned a record store and had a roomful of posters. Not concert stuff, but rather the promo posters given to record stores by the labels. I know nothing about this subject, but figured that at a few bucks apiece I would come out ahead on some, as some of it is certainly uncommon. I stuck with the 70s-80s stuff, mostly. They range from 24"x24" to 53"x42", though mostly larger, which is interesting, since most of the ones I've found online are smaller. Uber-niche market, but WTH? We'll see how they do on the 'Bay . . .

Grabbed one other cool item there: this cardboard mobile from 1979 promo-ing the first Star Trek movie, and featuring danglies of Shatner, Nimoy, Persis Khambatta and whoever that other guy was . . . Weighs about 5lb.
