Great info on why they are fake. For a few minutes, I contemplated suggesting them up to add to The Knowledge Box but the flaws are numerous. I guess the biggest tip off is the hand painted seagull. Glad I passed on these and know I now for the future.

imo evisu is crap. crazy graphics, crazy fits, often fake i won't ever give it a second look. EDIT: i also realize that they do make good things but tbh i've never ever seen the good shit in the wild, so if i come across the fashion stuff with the silkscreening i chuckle and move on.

i think with denim either good true vintage or quality modern workwear fits are a much better bet.

quick story - there's a pair of vintage levi's near me, big E, only problem is that it's that black-and-gold tab sta-prest poly stuff and i'm absolutely uninterested in 70s leisurewear. pass. red tab or bust.

sorry to make this confusing, i have seen legit ones with the large screen printed seagull which the fakes copied. those are still not the Evisu you are looking for. as they are unlikely to be top tier offerings, and are extremely dated. so they are a risk to flip even if real.

They make wonderful jeans when you get to the core, solid jeans without the fads from the Kanye period. in fact, i rate their more subtle jeans slightly higher than Sugarcanes.

I encourage you to look at them a bit more. just to know what you are dealing with in the future.

here is a sample of their new stuff. and i'd kop, if i wasn't throwing money at other obsessions..... [IMG]

also @DapperE , find you some selvedge and learn it. it's easy to look at a red-and-white taped hem and take it as selvedge but once you see the real thing you'll own it.

and don't forget that fakes will often use real selvedge denim.

Real Evisu for the knowledge box? Got some Wimminz floating about.

And once you take that first leap you'll start a mental collection of "The selvedge ID belongs to this fabric which is made by this mill, which is used by this company." ...or maybe that's just me.

So glad you finally found vicuna! We can all now stop feeling bad for the poor guy who just found 67 Brioni suits.

It's a weird jacket cape. I'm still making the rounds for awhile.

Oh, I am so jealous! I've found several Suri Alpaca coats, which I would think would be big finds, but nobody seems interested in them. Someday...someday.

You guys make me want to pick up more outerwear to sell, but it's big and bulky. Storage during the off season is hard, and buyers balk at the necessary postage.

Does anyone have that denim primer for noobs that was posted in the old thread? Looking to step my denim game up but don't know where to start, and I can't seem to find the damn thing.

Again: Can we pause for just a second and realize that SWB just found vicuna after already posting one of the most legendary hauls the thread has ever seen????

Booking my flight to Chicago now.
