Close, 11.5 AA/A, and already gone I'm afraid.

I was at an estate sale recently and the old man had been a traveling shoe salesman and then a Luggage Salesman. He had a bunch of Briefcases several of which I bought. These are the old school hard-sided samsonites. I had no idea how well these still do on the 'bay.

This was his personal case rather than inventory (he put his initials on it).

Now, another Samsonite, but, this one is NEW OLD STOCK. Perfect, with the paperwork, keys, initial stickers, etc.

Here's a BIG Samsonite Briefcase. Also NOS.

Up next is a find that I thought might be the most interesting thing I have found.

It's a Simplex Model No. 22 Railroad/Barn 15 Ton Jack made in 1923. This thing is a BEAST and works perfectly and still has a lot of its original red paint.

22 inches tall and it will lift 13 inches. Weighs 70 pounds!

    (Already sold)

Are you asking if they're bespoke because they say Adam Derrick? Adam Derrick is the designer for TBNY, so all of their shoes say that I believe. That being said, TBNY shoes are always a decent find if theyre not ugly/in good condition

Quote: That is a very cool find. Reminds me of the kind of thing they would have on American Restoration. They would sandblast it paint it up all new and shiney and bring it back to its original glory. Having said that, I think it has just enough of the original paint to look really cool the way it is. I would think that would be a great conversation piece to have somewhere in your house. A piece of history that becomes a piece of art.

    Two vintage doeskin waistcoats.
Sadly far too small for me. Guessing they're about a 36" chest.

BTdubs, I believe TBNY Italy is Gravati. I found a pair in the wild that had gravati printed on the insole, but that's the only pair I've seen like that, so I guess until someone sees another it won't be confirmed.

Has anyone here had experience cleaning a Barbour Waxed Cotton Jacket? That one I got yesterday has blood stains all down the back of it (hunter wore it I assume, as there was earplugs and shit in the pockets).

I know Barbours require special care, but was just wondering if anyone has successfully cleaned them at home, or had luck sending them to the cleaners? Thanks.

i would not ever give a wax jacket to a local cleaners. ever.

they can be reproofed at home which would probably help get the blood out (but i've never done this - wax twill not for me bro). or send it to barbour for reproofing/cleaning. i know filson offers a service and i'm sure that barbour does as well. good luck amigo!
