Belvest is a thing- not necessarily a dollar thing, most of the time, but I'm not leaving it behind. there are a few brands, that regardless of completed listings, i will always and forever roll the dice on because you just never know.

like this post if you're in the same boat.

I was under the impression that when the jacket tag says "drop (insert number here)" that means its part of a suit, no?

Nope. Corn/Canali/Caruso list drop on SC's as a standard.

Looks like I have passed on dozens of sc then lol

Interesting to see we had the same strategy at the store though, come during the calm before the storm (massive sale)

well single, double, i was asking about a general experience with the brand...

what i was seeing was that older Belvest was akin to maybe the Italian-made Faconnable, solid quality but maybe not a lot of market hype or $$.

it's all good tho! thx for your insight @SpooPoker @txwoodworker i think imma go back and cop - i got a feeling that jacket is still at this particular locale lol.

I've only found one in a thrift, vintage 100 cashmere. Got featured on the PTO roundup but still didn't sell for a whole lot. Was a cool jacket and nice to be PTO'd nonetheless, and I'd never leave one if I come across it again.

I've never had a surefire way to tell if what I'm looking at is a SJ or an SC. Reliable cues for me are: a pinstripe pattern, matching buttons, jet pockets, a tag that specifically mentions fabric content on pants, but often I'm looking at a piece, or putting it in my cart and wondering if I've got an SC or a SJ. Any of the experts have some pro tips (deciphering tags, etc.) to offer? I'm sure this has been covered a million times but every search I've run provides vagueries. Sorry for the derail.
