I saw a dude doing it at my local GW, but he had a separate attchment that did the scanning...probably a more thorough thinger that also searched ABE, Amazon etc. I had used the stand-alone scanner from Red Laser but was not impressed with it. Can probably find a paid app that does wider searches - gonna look into that. Would be well worth it...unless you know of a good one to try?

There's a lady who does this that frequents my local shops. She brings a portable stool and two carts. Gets to the book isle, dumps an entire shelf of books into one cart. Then the process begins. She unfolds the stool right in the middle of the isle, sits down and starts to scan the books from the cart. "Bonk!" "Bonk" "Bonk" "Ding!" "Bonk!" "Ding!" "Bonk!" "Bonk!" "Bonk!". That's all you can hear.

I am assuming "Bonk" means bad and "Ding" means good.

I seen this in pretty much every store I frequent. Hit up the classical music CDs while you got the scanner out--some rare sets can fetch thousands.

Good tip! I grabbed a big boxful of classical CDs that someone was going to toss out at the end of their garage sale last summer - will be scanning those tonight!

Bros, went out with Vader. Found a bunch of grails. As usual, so disappointed none was my size...

Prices were all over the place but grails could be had for cheap.
Oh yeah, had to post the last pic twice to show the epic-ness.
Way too many pics to post and way too many grails to pic.

They recently sent out an email practically begging for people to consign high-end denim with them. The are no longer accepting dress pants on consignment. I guess they are keeping up with the current trends.

Lol, bro, tell you what, I'll leave that part to Vader. He's a nicer guy than me. Only looking for grails in my size to rock. Bros, i fucking really wish Japan has a size 5 or 6.

There are a couple bookstores here that have banned those scanners. Some people scan in the entire store, buy nothing, post it on amazon, and only purchase the item after the Amazon sale.
