Not quite as old as the other, but these late 60's suits are just as well made.

I was heading back to my office and had to stop for gas. I saw a guy get out of a beautiful newer BMW. He was dressed perfectly. Navy Blue Hopsack Blazer, you could see the quality from 6 feet away. It fit perfectly. White OCBD with a fairly long collar so probably J. Press or a similar company. BB #1 Regimental tie. Perfectly creased grey wool pants ending in two inch cuffs. The look was perfect.

THEN, I noticed his shoes. Big ugly clunky black slip ons with rubber sole, probably rockports or something similar. What is the point of dressing well if you have shitty shoes?

You can set notifications either to "immediately" (meaning every time someone posts in a thread you have that setting applied to, you get an email, or once a day, or once a week. I just keep a subscriptions tab open and refresh throughout the day. All the emails I get from StyFo that are notifications are filtered into a file that I almost never open.

Yesterday was probably one of my better single stops of the summer.

Walked in the door and immediately spotted this, which had made it to the 75% off day since it was misplaced in the wimmenz section:

My first recent Dildo Zegna tie, and NWT to boot! Scoped through the rest of the store and found some cool things (fodder spoilered).
    J Crew Cotton/Cashmere Quarter Zip for myself (L - N/A)
Official 2014 Chelsea Adidas Home Jersey NWT (XXL)
    Orvis 100% Cashmere Long Sleeve Polo/Sweater (L)
2x Thomas Pink Shirts 16.5 35 in staple Tattersall and University Stripe.
Cool JP Morgan Sky Blue US Open Tennis Championships hat for myself (N/A)
After the Zegna I took a peek at the ties and sure enough, 4 tie pops for me just came out to the racks:

    From L - R: Charvet, Stefano Ricci, Breuer 100% Linen (N/A), Altea

I was scoping through the blazers and found this beauty with handiwork everywhere (Surgeon Cuffs, Dual Vents, the works):

Finally, after getting back to my car I realized the possibility that the Sartoria Castangia was likely an orphan so I went back in and took a stroll through the pant racks and was glad I did (although I couldn't match the blazer)!

Navy Recent EZ Cotton Cashmere 34 Pants for myself (N/A)

AND the kicker of the day!

Super Staple Recent NWT EZ Charcoal Flat Front Wool Dress Pants (36)

All true thrift all one stop! < $55 total!

Sadly this is super common. Everywhere from Minneapolis to LA. I've seen impeccably dressed guys with beautiful suits and well curated outfits finished off my the ugliest rubber toed, corrected grain leather shoes. Just kills it. Seriously, why buy a $6,000 suits, $500 shirts and then $79 shoes. I don't get it. I mean, I can kind of see it in Minnesota where you need crappy shoes for the salt and slush in the winter, but in other places it just doesn't make sense.

Lovely! The '60s ones are cool, too. Love the green DB.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Gonna need more pics on this. And I call dibs on whatever it is. :)
Just gave me a seizure. How do you even live with yourself?
My pet peeve. And, like Nat says, so, so common. There's a reason nobody here has ever pulled the equivalent shoe haul to match the suits & SCs SWB and Spoo found last week. Hardly anybody wears good shoes.

Good day today. Took the day off to go thrifting and found a couple of cool things

Plus another canali suit that I dropped off at the dry cleaners

Plus plus one of my auctions was included in the PTO eBay round up

Also for anyone who like cremieux ties I can usually get them new for like 12-25 7 folds and grenadine for like 25-45 depending on the sales at discount Dillard's

I have one of the 7 folds...waiting for a good sale so I can scoop up some of the grenadines

Orphan Tux jacket and dibbsed by my brother already.
But I did think of you when I picked up a BB Corduroy full Norfolk jacket in a 40. Unfortunately too many holes to be salvageable.
