WOA! This has to be a resell store! This can't be true thrift!
Is that a $50 tag on that Jil Sanders blazer?
Sitting on the beach under an umbrella, basking in the ocean breeze, sipping a drink, smoking a cigar and reading - that I can do. I'll move to the island with you.
It's sweltering around the urban heat island, pitting out all my shirts and walking around with perpetual batwings, getting in and out of cars that are eight billion degrees from sitting in the sun, and not wanting to set foot outside home or office because it's 95 and 500% humidity - that's what I hate.
Given that my summers are, at best, 1 week of the former and four months of the latter, it's not worth it. Summer sucks.
This summer especially sucks because I have to swelter through the entire miserable season and only get the beach vacation at the end, Labor Day week. Because some family members thought that was a good idea, to save money on a beach house rental.
Same, actually. Going to Florida the week of Labor Day. First vacation since last April.
Thrift all morning into the early evening,
Come home and sit on the front porch,
Watching a foot of snow accumulate, (oh the soft silence of falling snow)
While smoking a cigar and
Sipping a big glass of Jack Daniels.
I'm too young to drink and I don't want to smoke, but lemme tell ya, this sounds pretty much perfect XD!
Moving from the Midwest to Florida I quickly learned that I can't appreciate one season without the others. The 4 seasons are a condensed life cycle that everyone experiences as they age, and I think it gives you a subconscious perspective that I would have missed out on if I had grown up somewhere like Florida. We got married in Beaver Creek, CO in September of last year and one night on the way to dinner we were walking through Vail and passed a storefront window that had Halloween decorations on display. Everything was right - the temperature, the leaves had started to change, and his wave came over me sort of like smelling a fragrance and old girlfriend wore, and it instantly took me back to a time when different months of the year meant something new to experience and look forward to. I've lived in Florida for 6 years and have never felt that way. It's never Christmas here.
dang @Orgetorix sounds super upset at summer right now. i feel you bud
