Hey gang, long time no talk!

I found this Stickley ‘Elroy’ chair today and paid up for it ($150 CAD). Was wondering if anyone had more info about it or the company (they don’t seem to have much of a presence up here). I haven’t been able to find the price or a used one for sale anywhere, so I was wondering if I caught a steal or not (not that it matters much, keeping it for personal use)

Anybody ever heard of this brand before? Goodyear welted, triple sole, made in England. Also small guy sized and most likely headed to Japan.

Decided to brave the 101 degree temps yesterday and hit a few spots on my bike. Polo x Corn navy chinos for myself, Jill Sander for my wife, silk scarf I'm going to make into a pillow case and a brown suede Dingman belt for personal.

Any other lurkers that want to introduce themselves? I occasionally think about the fact that people have probably followed the conversations for years and would recognize some posters out and about.

I'm an American expat living in London who originally signed up here some time ago because I was interested in the B/S/T thread. About two months ago I started making a point of browsing the clothing sections in local charity shops. The scene here doesn't seem to yield the volume of quality stuff you guys seem to regularly encounter at those big stores in the States. Prices are typically quite high as well.

I generally leave stuff that's not my size but have occasionally picked up items that I think have some flip value. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that ebay deleted my account from the late 90s due to inactivity. I was unaware of their policy change and lost my account along with associated transaction history and feedback. So I'm not sure how flippable things would be if I need to start from scratch as a seller.

In any case, my goal is to find a nice Savile Row suit and sport coat in my size. By virtue of being in London I'm hopeful it will be achievable.

Thank you to all the folks posting interesting finds and educational info. It's quite fascinating to see the different genres in which people here appear to specialize. I look forward to contributing as well in the future.

Ever since I read Kitchen Confidential back in 2006 this guy was my hero. We had a lot of the same struggles. Some make it out and some don’t. I miss him. He was a stylish motherfucker too. Can’t go wrong with canvas Levi’s and Steve McQueen Persols.

Like impuntra said. My dining room table is there mission style quarter sawn oak and with 8 chairs it was north of 12k. So I'm sure it was at least $1500. I would have bought it in a heartbeat .

Called the only local store that carries Stickley. They have a floor model for $2600, and to custom order would be even more
