My guy I need to pm you about the Reebok shirt, it’s my style lol
Looks like Suntory may have tinkered with the recipe when they bought Jim Beam a while back. The bars in Tokyo have placards out front promoting Jim Beam highballs all over the place so maybe they're trying to make it more mixable. And I know that sugar is sugar but the Mexican Coca Cola with cane sugar does taste better to me than the corn syrup stuff.Sitting around and I decided to crack this old bottle of hooch. Could be collectible or some ****, but I got a bigger bottle in better shape, no big loss if so. I have a vintage lifestyle, all my **** is old, not necessarily used, even the whiskey has to be vintage lol. Anyway, I am a whiskey drinker, I am familiar with the contemporary Jim Beam product, I wanted to compare a vintage sample because it was in my possession. I’m relatively sophisticated enough to give it a breakdown, so here it goes. I poured a half shot of vintage and modern beam in a shot glass and rolled it around, modern looks a bit more “oily” and a bit darker surprisingly. I start with modern beam, swish it a bit under my tounge, and try to get a good refresher on the tastes, familiar territory. Next, the vintage, immediately upon hitting my taste buds I get a very strong grain taste, but it’s smooth, and has less of a burn. No flavors there like you would expect from a costly whisky though, but it’s much better. Next I mixed some in Mexican cola with two good ice cubes in a mason jar. The modern is a bit more sweet, it’s cloying and syrupy in comparison to the old stuff. View attachment 980226
