1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Fuuuuuuuuck. He really was one of the good ones. When my house was burglarized a couple years ago, dude offered to send me a camera so I could keep on eBaying to make some money to replace my stolen shit. Just gave my pets some extra treats and will be donating now some money to my local humane society in his name.

    Rest in power, homey.

    Wow! RIP!

Funny how stories seem to surface about individual interactions with him. He was such a genuine dude and will definitely be missed.

As others have mentioned, this is truly a community and as busy as I've gotten lately, I always make a point to keep up on this thread and contribute when I can since I've gained so much from you all.

Definitely going to feed the local cats in his honor tonight.

Spoo, let us know how we can contribute.

Woah. That's really sad to hear.

Hard to see the community lose a good one.

    RIP Needmachine

I'm sad to hear the news, I'm too new to really have known him. I did find the Linda's Stuff troll terrific. Sounds like he was a very good guy. It's amazing and heartening to see an online community provide such an outpouring and do what they can to honor one of their own.

Good "problem" to have! That's great; good for you.

Devastation. Rando beat me to it and took most of the words out of my mouth, but this thread has been so many things to me -- education, distraction, comfort, community. I've made real world friends from virtual interactions. Each loss is hard. I'm not around as much as I'd like and that kills me; many of you probably don't even know who I am I post so rarely. But the community and all of us are never -- can never be -- far for me; checking the thread is as necessary as breath.

    Stay safe and happy, dudes.

And if anyone finds out that there's anything at all we can do to lend some comfort to TNM's family, please share.

    Micdrop. Awesome.

RIP TheNeedMachine, we lost a great member of this community. It's bittersweet that he left us with the greatest thread prank of all time.

I remember Need Machine used to always get pissed when people didn't spoiler things. Eventually he said screw it and started posting super long unspoilered posts himself. He'd make a point of saying he wasn't going to spoiler his post because no one else did. (I think I'm remembering this correctly?). Always thought that was funny. Definitely had a good sense of humor and seemed like an interesting guy.
