1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I was wondering the same thing re: flowers. I saw there's an RIP thread on the Foetus board but it's closed for registration so I can't make an account to ask. I'll try contacting JG Thirlwell and hope I hear back.

Man, that is very sad to hear. I also had noticed his absence. I was hoping he was just on a SF hiatus and would soon return. I always appreciated his ultra dry sense of humor and laughed out loud many times at his posts. He was a unique voice, to say the last.

    RIP NeedMachine

Very sad news. We start to think of all of us as friends and brothers in the thrift. If anyone finds out more about his family or similar, please let us know. Maybe we could have a thrift challenge for him and donate something on his behalf. We have become a fraternity here and his passing is a loss to all of us.
    RIP

So sad to hear this news...

A few years I was in a bind and needed a new tuxedo quickly. He responded right away and sold me a really nice Paul Stuart tuxedo at a great price. Just a good guy to deal with and to get to know a little bit via PMs back and forth.

    And +1 on Woofa's suggestion.

In lieu of flowers, I'm sure he would have appreciated a donation to an animal shelter. During the gift exchange, he would only ask for a $25 donation to the SPCA from his gift partner. Not only that, he has one of the most "liked" comments on StyleForum for offering $1 per thumb to an animal charity.

I PMed him a few weeks ago and he didn't get back to me, which was odd. I assumed he had gone to Vegas. After a couple of weeks and no responses to messages, I started to get worried.

RIP. I still feel like the new guy here and I didn't have a chance interact with him much. But I really enjoyed his posts. If everyone is cool with it, I'd be happy to make the scavenger hunt donation prize to the SPCA in Daniel's name.

A charity auction similar to the one we did last year for Brian, with the proceeds going to his local SPCA would be very nice.

Man, I'm really saddened that I never (knowingly) met Daniel. Anytime we ever corresponded he seemed like a great dude.

Cheers to all you guys, homies by association. [IMG]

Count me in. Always a great guy. He sent in some stuff for the charity auction I ran a couple years ago also. RIP NeedMachine
