1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Some of our thrifts do a weekly auction and this is a part of that.

I thought this was going to be a decent e-thrift. Now I'm pretty sure it's a decent fake. @SpooPoker, can I get your expert opinion?

I was sick all last week and had a busy Saturday with no time to thrift. My fiancé and I planned a raging Friday night of take-out and going through our kitchen cabinets. We are a month out from the wedding and getting stuff from our registry on a daily basis, so we needed to find homes for all our new stuff. Thus, on Saturday I now have a few boxes of cleared out shit to donate.

Cut to Saturday afternoon and I'm across town paying for the last half of my wedding suit after the pants were hemmed. Initially, I planned on hitting a Goodwill to donate the stuff, but it was a bit out of the way and there's a more convenient store to hit on the way home. Well, I'm glad I decided to suck it up and drive three minutes out of the way.

    I'll start small.

Both are orphans. I tore that damn store apart but couldn't find the pants. I thought I found the tuxedo pants - high quality, good construction, no labels but on closer inspection the silk pants didn't match the silk on the lapels.

The best thing is, they fit. I'm likely not keeping them, but who knows.

After I threw them in my cart I frantically called my fiancé.

"Babe! BABE! Oh my God! Oh my God!"

"What! What is happening? Are you okay?"

    "Savile Row! Savile FUCKING Row!"

I've trained/educated/bored her enough with clothing minutiae that she vaguely understood what I was talking about and why I was so excited.

When I get home I model the jackets for her. She loves the fit and insists that I keep them. She then Googles the guy and as of last year he's alive and lives within walking distance. I'm tempted to knock on his door and see if he wants to chat about clothing.

Edit: one addition from today. Cardinal of Canada for Barney's. 70% wool, 30% cashmere. NA as it fits perfectly.

    It's a bad version of this: http://usa.hermes.com/la-maison-des...0-soie-140cm-kachinas-orange-blanc-98834.html

It's definitely fake. The pics of it online were shit so I took a risk. Thankfully the seller accepts returns. I was thrown because it is handrolled and the silk is decent.

I stopped at a 'vintage' store I don't usually frequent, mostly because I overpaid for some things the first time I went there. Had to pay more like 'boutique thrift' prices for these, but I think it works.
