1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

While waiting for the waters to recede from the Classic Menswear Spoo-nami that was recently unleashed upon us, I figured I'd step aside from that category and post some more casual things.

Cool unlined jacket with patch pockets and a certain flecked je ne sais quois appeal:

This company was started by the same designer as Stone Island, the late great Massimo Osti.

This was a gift from my brother in law, who worked fixing Harleys and Ducatis at this dealership before starting his own business:

    Some hoodie action, Japan-style

Average PPU for all items, not including the samurai t-shirt:

Kind of hesitated before posting this Volcom jacket, after all it's a brand you can find at the mall without looking too hard. But when my sons were young and into skateboarding I discovered some of these skate brands work for me even at 6'2" 250. So just putting it up here as a public service to other dads who might otherwise not try on things like this. Searched the thread and found no prior mentions, so going to claim a Thread First on Volcom.

i got something to say. read it if you want to.

for people who don't know Spoo. after 4 years of knowing the guy? he has "IT" The dude not only does what some would call Thrift. but hits up every chance he can drive to in a day.
Thrifting is not solely inclusive of church charity shops. Thrifting is a state of mind.
searching for the deals. knowing what you are looking at when you see it. He knew the game before it started.[IMG]

some of us on here have been living the #Thriftlife for more than a decade now. . taking every single chance you have. making the most of it.

I have been Thrifting for 20 years this year. an anniversary of sorts.
the thread has a hierarchy, spoo at the top. with maybe 10 people who can dominate on any given day. the difference in interests is key. you know this.

learn the craft. learn to know. on sight, on feel. diversify.

Which brings me to my point.

    this weeks Scavenger hunt.
    - is to get you folks looking around. trying new things. understand, when you rushed straight to the mothballed suit rack? you ran past money. there is money all around you if you resell. quality living cheap if you don't. the aim is broadening your horizons.

Every category i listed has a profit/saving potential. and i left it up to you to decide what was worthy. some may have noticed.[IMG]
it wasn't a joke. those were all real money makers.

    last hour.

    Nope, some random Italian maker.

    LOL I like this!

I appreciate the kind words brother. but I disagree with this - there is no hierarchy here, im not at the top, we are all equals.

hope everyone's having a happy and fruitful saturday so far. below are from the past couple days, ppu: ~$6.90

haven't pulled boots in a long time. one of my better before/after pics, cleaned up real nice. these are pretty sick, they fit and i'm trying to justify keeping them even though they don't go with anything currently in my closet. Chippewa made in USA shearling lined insulated 9" 'Arctic' boots.

Things I've grabbed over the past week or so. Pop on anything Bijan which was cool. All sweaters are cash and my size :) Jcrew is NWT (obviously) and the suit is polo. I know those tags plus the RN says so as well. Tag in the neckline is gone I'm guessing that's why it was so cheap. It's got it all though. Peak lapel, duel vents and working cuffs. PPU: 5 bucks and some change. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
