1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Stuff I found while scavenger hunting:

    Zegna 15milmil15 suit.
Reunited orphans. That NEVER happens to me, pretty happy about that accomplishment.

Vintage Walk-Over saddle shoes for me. Been wanting another pair of saddles for awhile. Used to have a pair of cream/blue Dexter made in USA, but got rid of them and always regretted it.

    And Margiela grey cap toes.

    appreciate all the thumbs.

not true thrift but yes, these and some other unpictured fodder mixed in (Boss, Versace etc) PPU $47 a suit. The Damir Roma, LP and Chanel I thought took care of the purity factor and the suits took care of the wow factor :)

Don't think those came from a thrift store. Some secrets probably won't be revealed, but it's always interesting imagining the negotiations from the seller's end: "Hey, I have a bunch of suits to sell. Retail on this Kiton one is like $3,000. How does ten bucks sound? The rest I could probably sell for like fifteen grand. Would you gimme $200. Oh, and I have $700 cash in my wallet; but I'll let you have it for thirty dollars."

I'm astounded by the level of effort that went into you matching those two orphans among Linda's OCEAN of dross. Personal view: I'd also question whether it's worth the effort, since Zegna can be found easily for SUPER cheap -- price has crashed lately.

    Slow clap.

But the difference is always that the goods are not liquid. There's effort that has to go into extracting that cash, and some folks either never want to expend that effort, or have tried and decided it's not worth it and want out. Or their circumstance is such that they need cash immediately (also known as bargaining leverage). Think of that discount like payment for a service -- the service of the freedom from hassle. Also, the "buyer" (who will of course soon become the seller) is taking on risk; not at all unreasonable for them to preserve upside.
It's the same thing that happens every day in the free market.

Are these Alden markings? Nothing on the sole to indicate but the sizing on the side is familiar.
