1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Can we get more details on those Coltrane records? I saw those at work and forgot to ask when that post went up!

    This is great!

If I had something to add for noobs, it would be to post what you're most passionate about finding (even if the eBay amount isn't stunning). It's still more fun to read (and learn about) about old Patagonia, weird records, middling 90s Polo, than it is to see Robert Graham monstrosities (though those are fun too).

The glory of the 90s: when folks bought $600 TNF Mountain jackets just to walk their dogs.

Still have my first pair of Tevas from 89.

Only 30% off these for today's Friends and Family sale but I'll make it work.

Thanks, John! We don't have much whitewater in Alabama, but some decent river kayaking.
You are da man, Fueco! I have Polo Ralph Lauren vendor catalogs dating back to 1991. Since I always received 2 copies of everything, most of them are still sealed.

Already on their way to @Tradvocate. In the past I have found orig. Blue Note LP's, Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. However, this was my first time finding Coltrane, and I've been buying records for a long time

New to me project car, somewhat thrifted (from Craigslist) and almost entirely thrift-funded. 1978 Mercedes 300 CD coupe 5 cylinder diesel, 2 owner, 117k miles. Needs some work but should be fun. A little (lot) bit slower than a @SpooPoker Ferrari or Maserati but suits me fine!

One of the cars that I had in college was a hand-me-down (mostly) gold 1978 Benz 300CD. My roommates called it Christine because when you set the cruise control, it would go whatever speed it wanted... anywhere from 25 mph to 110 mph. Plus, for no reason at all, the windshield wipers would just turn on. I freaking loved that car.

Very nice. Didn't know we had some old Benz fans here.

My 1984 500SEC Euro version. Pics are a few years old. I've since gone back to stock height and original Bundt style wheels.

Was also a craigslist score. The ad was posted for about 2 hours before I saw it.

Love the old Benz flavor happening right now! Makes me miss my '90 300E. Nothing special like the ones above but was a pleasure to tool around town in.

The past few days have been hella bad. So many miles logged, so few items. Anyone else feel like their grail days are followed up by shit days? Always fun tho.

Makes me think of the lyrics in Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step."
    "Yes, I drive a 560 SEC
And when I'm on the mic, you gotta see me"

That song plays on the radio often in the thrifts.

My favorite appearance of the car is probably from Paid In Full.

My pitiful Benz was more in line with Sir Mix A Lot's "My Hooptie."

In addition to Style Forum, one of my daily must-visit websites is Bring a Trailer. I've had about 10 MB in my driving career and currently have 3 (other two are a '94 E320 Cabriolet and daily driver '97 C280, both CL finds as well). I've had newer luxury cars but nothing beats the feel of a big, heavy Benz. Funny, I actually intended to buy the C280 for my son but liked it so much I ended up selling my Lexus LS430 and kept it for myself. Mr. G, really digging the SEC...I think I'll have to have one at some point. Need a bigger garage first.

Another MB guy chiming in here, love them. Best daily driver I've had was about 10 years ago, '87 300 turbo diesel. I have a couple on my short list that I'd be happy to own.
