1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Did not kop. There are two of them and a nice Zegna waiting for final clearance at Sandy Springs Marshalls. Maybe they will go cheaper for you guys.

Buddy Rich & Gene Krupa played on Slingerlands. Legendary in the Jazz world.

Me too--since the first time I heard Buddy Rich.

(Set is available -- never got around to actually learning to play a drum set, nor do I have room ... Really wish I could keep and learn)

    It means "do not buy".

Tbh, it's really a tag from a store that I can't remember the name of.

    Hey guys,

I just finished both threads (started back in October!), quite entertaining. I now have a better appreciation for quality clothing. Thanks guys!

On a side note, I am currently in Boston (conference) and the thrift shops are just awful! Nothing good around the downtown core area. Maybe I am hitting the wrong ones as I am limited to central locations accessible via the subway.... Any recommendations are welcome...I really want to find some good quality Aldens...here is hoping...

    The city is nice though....

My first thought was, "It's made out of bat shit?" Then I remembered that was guano.

If anyone has a Macys closing near them, there might be some deals on mannequins and forms. I picked up a solid mannequin on a heavy metal stand today. Its about 5 feet tall so no more stooping over to set up jackets for photos. Picked up some solid metal hanging stands and wood hangers as well.

@Theodoric check on Yelp and see if Keezers near Harvard Square is still good; they have been around for a while. Harvard is on the Red Line of the T train public transit system, across the river from Boston, and is a fun place to walk around even if the thrift is not with you.

Decided to hit a store after work. Yielded a couple of gnarly things.

The first old BB Popover I've ever found (wish it was blue oxford cloth, but I'll take it)

    This thing is doooope.

70s(?) Silk Shawl Collar Robe w/turn back cuffs.

And bought this for the vintage store. Made in USA.

And I left these because they've been chopped and had some Zanella stains. but silverwearbandit talked me into possible copping and hemming/cleaning

I was in there and the owner is retiring this summer, seems to be on a death spiral. The zegna coats looked like they'd been there for 10 years.

    Thanks!

What's the word on the goodwill outlet on Harrison avenue? I know they have the bins but someone in this thread said that you have to do it at least once....
