1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thebuddahman is spot on with his advice. I paid £250 for my 60's manual Seamaster a few years ago and was very pleased at that price.

    It's afternoon! Lazy sod.

I'm going back on Monday, I spoke with the manager of my local and he said there loads of suits and jackets to go out then. I'll be waiting with baited breath...

But I did just find this Lambo polo shirt. Huge patches and under collar rubber text. Gnarly as hell. I'll edit this post with a better picture when I'm home.

I had a lucky one of those stops last week while on a holiday errand at a place I don't get to frequent too often. Older money donation was fun picking it up and got plenty of things but nothing crazy high end. Total was 41 items and ppu $4.34.
Highlights for me was pop on trusssini, Versace, nordy Loro cash, Armani, hickey... bunch of zanella, zegna pants a few shirts and a few nice hand rolled squares. I also was able to talk them into letting me keep the nice canali. Armani and Brioni hangers. If only that's what clothes were actually on it.

As I was sure that you were not talking about a woman who kicks a football on 4th and long, I had to look it up. My lexicon of British slang is growing! [IMG]

Message from 2017. Resolutions were not kept.

:Thanks to Omar, Takai, and 1otck for imminent swag. Thanks brother Spoo for helping with technical support. All the folks in PM chat. And the Thread regulars. As a whole. All of you. Makes me feel less lonely on my island. Your banter, wit, lewd jokes, bragging and stories mean the world to me.
Thank you. Have a great year in 2017. May the Thrift be with you. :worship2:

(1940's/ 50's?) Coane varsity sweater, I'm thinking Syracuse University? Mint condition, no moth holes. The guy's name is stitched on the inside. (Too bad it wasn't Jim Brown or Floyd Little lol).

I've seen the error of my ways. Thanks to 330 for the assist.
What a way to say goodbye to 2016! Hopefully this is a good omen of things to come in 2017! Cheers thrift thread, it's been a wild year!

Anyone have thrift resolutions for 2017?

For myself, I'm going to make a concerted effort to learn the makers tags. Gonna hit the HOF: Secrets to ID the maker thread hard. I've already gotten way better about not getting starstruck by the designer labels and now regularly pass on good labels if it's dated or not not a great color etc. All that is thanks to the crew in here. You guys rule and I've grown a lot just by osmosis. Hope 2017 is even bigger and better for the Thrift Mafia!
