My trek out into the arctic temps and un-plowed roads wasn't a total loss today.

Not sure where my nephew is at. He had a solid day the other day: Loro Piana, Lobbs, Barba, RLPL...

Mid century desk, anyone recognize this design? Don't need a desk and not sure if it's worth picking up to flip

Also more apt when you have almost eliminated your backlog for the first time since you started this game. No joke, empty closet, listed the last items last night. Shopping today.

Have any of you thrifted in Florence, Italy? My fam is spending the holiday there, and I intend to spend a day thrifting while my girlfriend and mom help my sis buy a wedding dress.

Never thrifted, but it isn't one of my favourite places on earth. Such a beautiful city to visit, let us know how many Italian grails you find, T.

If anybody is in the Seattle area these are not a bad deal I think. Price list puts them at 4k each. I don't want to go get them but I'm thinking about it still.

I had a big horse property in northern Vermont for a few years, so force of necessity warranted experimentation. The best bang for the buck was the TNF McMurdo at eBay pricing for NWT. $200+. It was the only parka that really got it done at -25. Big, heavy, reduced mobility, but damn . . . warm! And the fabric withstood a lot of punishment. Came down almost to my knees. I wore it over Patagonia multi-ply long underwear, corduroys, thick cotton sweater and Carhartt Yukon Extreme coveralls, Sorel Conquest -40 boots, LP thick cashmere beanie. Ended up walking like a zombie, but whatever.

Cold is fun, isn't it? I walked the dogs in 0F weather this morning wearing expedition weight Capilene under an R3 fleece. I was fine expect that my face got cold in the -9 windchill.

Absolutely, when I've got a couple things in the cart that "pay the freight" I'm more willing to risk a lesser known brand, grab something for the wife, or get some fodder.

Thrifting doesn't exist in the same way as we would expect it.

It's a lovely place to visit though, I went there a couple of years ago.
