Easiest way to tell look at really close elephant looks has a bunch of pinhead sized circles like hippo but smaller. Rhino is just flat.

School's out so I'm finally thrifting again. Came up empty on everything but ties this week.

Not sure if the Versace is real, I've never seen one in person before.

Fiancee's little sister moved in with us and she's staying with us for about 2 weeks. So this is the current state of my office. Can't take pictures for a while.

So you all can have a teaser. Did well at two consignment stores today. Garment bags underneath have two J.Press tweeds and a bright yellow HF sport coat. The rest on top was from Rag-o-Rama. Most I've ever spent in one trip there for sure.

I also bought 45 pairs of Duchamp socks. Which was probably a good idea. I think.

I used to find awesome stuff at TJ Maxx pretty often. A couple years ago Kiton and Brioni and Purple Label were popping up, and even hitting clearance. Things have completely changed...now an irregular Brooks Brothers tie is about the best you can hope for, and even that rarely.

Anyone else experience the same? Probably they realized there were better ways to move that stuff. Or I'm just unlucky.

I think they only send the good stuff to stores in really high end areas. Though in my experience the prices aren't usually good enough to kop, at least for flipping. Prices are pretty well aligned to what NWT stuff goes for on the bay.

Yes, Chet. That is consistent with my experience as well. A couple of years ago, I could visit my local "good" TJM and count on a few decently priced high-end ties. Now, they are exceedingly rare. They once carried Kiton shirts, Tom Ford ties, and even a couple of LP cruisers. Now, it's all overpriced PRL on the racks and Cape Cod / Todd Snyder in the tie area.

From my experience it's all about location, I was in Albany a few weeks ago and the tie rack was Tom Ford and RLPL discounted down to $40 each. Locally in PA I find $45 Brooks Bros dress shirts and overpriced Under Armor. I have a few friends overseas that tell me stories about how they use to buy CHOLÉ at TK Maxx. I guess if you go where people don't know the difference between Polo Ralph Lauren and RLPL you might do pretty well.

1000% Anderson...sorry

When Chanel machine finishes their edges, they make an even fold over then stitch that down all around the border, plus that silk print is terrible quality even if that's the backside...I hope that is the backside...

Are the Chanel scarves ever made in France??? I have a similar one in white.

Good call on Nordstrom Rack. Picked up a NWT E. Zegna SC for 2 bills and Gant Rugger smarty pants for $15. Surprisingly the same SC was $1k at their other location. Pics later.

They had a bunch of EIDOS stuff but priced at $100 for shirts. Some outerwear was at $300 but luckily not my size otherwise i would be broke.

Recent Brioni suit. Donor was meticulous on making sure all the tags including sizing and material were cut out. The pants brioni marking was also blacked out. Not gonna ***** considering its a good deed to give stuff away but i cant understand why especially when you have the lining with Brioni print all over.

Also picked up the same Chanel scarf. I knew it was fake due to silk/poly blend but wanted to see how many other flaws i can find
