1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    ^^^^Both shoulders on those jackets are massive @dad2bandm. And not in a good way.

    I wonder if it's Canali sizing? Most of my jackets are 40R US / 50R EU...including ones I've posted here before. Thanks for pointing it out. Sigh. I'll keep looking for smaller Canali.

    It's not the sizing as much as how dated the jackets are. I believe the blue labels are pre 2004 and you mentioned one was unvented which makes it probably much older than that. Most of the jackets and suits, especially Canali from older periods will have very heavily padded shoulders as well as high chance of being unvented. These traits make them both 1) harder to flip and 2) not in line with current trends. There are of course exceptions and I'm still new to the game. Have had similar experience with Zegna. I would stay away from regular Hugo boss stuff all together unless it's a current label and great shape. The newer models with a slimmer cut sell ok especially if the pattern is nice but I'd put the overall construction of those jackets under Brooks Brothers or recent hickey Freeman and personally would not wear given what else is out there at eBay prices unless I was attached to the color/pattern and it fit well (I have one such SC). Maybe there's a nicer Hugo Boss line/label out there somewhere but I'll rely on Google/handfeel/my instincts to identify those when I see them haha

    @dad2bandm

    I won't hammer home the point that those jackets are too big. However, since you've posted a number of questions about personal fit, I'd like to offer a few pointers. For starters, get to know clothing. Not just labels/brands, but some of the construction methods, materials, etc. If you're interested in dressing better on a daily basis (CM or SWD), start keeping up with some of the picture-heavy threads on StyleForum. There are also a number of great (and even more that are terrible) menswear blogs/tumblrs available to glance at regularly. When you see things that you like, start breaking it down. Do you like the how the colours play together? Textures? Is it the fit of the garments themselves?

    By putting in some of your energy into research, you'll save yourself the headache at the stores. Besides, taking a look at other styles is a hobby for me. I wouldn't wear a total RO, YY, EG look myself, but I love when others do it really well. I also wouldn't don a Balenciaga gown, but I definitely prefer reading about Cristóbal Balenciaga rather than my regular work.

    Thanks for the education. I now found an issue with the Talbott shirt too I missed. Sigh. Thanks for the insight.

    Might be a long shot but does anyone have a spare black/dark horn Gucci button? About 1" diameter. I thrifted a beautiful long black cotton coat today with the top button missing. £7 was too good to leave behind. Thanks.

    I always bring a tailors measuring tape with me when i venture out. I'd recommend bringing one and knowing your measurements when looking for items in your size :)

    I think you're a fan, can you tell me whether this is real? Is it anything particularly special?

    Anyone have a good guide on tying these, just to see it? @Orgetorix, you would seem like a likely candidate to know these things.

    I haven't measured it but it fits between a 40 and 42 with kinda slim shoulders.
