Wow, congrats @330CK! That's awesome!

@SpooPoker: Great looking Windows, you definitely have the eye for it!

Currently at the hospital with my wife and the baby's arrival will be between 5 and 24 hours. This waiting process is terrible, I'm utterly useless. I may as well be a potted plant in the corner.

Any last minute advice from those that have been through this? Other than the obvious of "stay at the head end of your wife" as I've been advised by staff.

I've had one of those RL sweaters with the bizarre embroidery hanging around here for a while. Can't give it away, but I have never found really good search terms for it so people can find it in the bazillions of other PRL sweaters.
Usually referred to as the scribble logo.

This was in the first store I hit today. Needless to say I GTFO ASAP. (Yes, it is on!)

Not a great day. A few okay finds that I will post later.
I really hate these stores. I went to a few and never went back since.

I spent those hours feeling extreme anxiety, really needing a drink, and on StyleForum.

Mop her brow, tell her she's amazing, tell her everything is ok, do NOT let her hold your hand if you ever want to use that hand again.
Congratulations and good luck.

@HansderHund , Bring supplies. for her when she is in labor. -Juice, snacks, small towels, tissues. magazines.small blanket. phone charger.
and similar items for yourself. including a cushion from your sofa. you might be waiting for a while.

in the room? be where she can see you. say not much unless she asks, and say encouraging stuff when you reply. even if you are freaking out.

And Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

Breathe and try to stay in the moment. If you start thinking too much about how you made another human that will shortly be coming out of your wife, you could break your brain. Staying at the head end is good advice. Congrats!

Congratulations!
No advice, the fact that you're asking means you care enough to not screw it up. Think of the complete efffing idiots you know that have kids, if they can do it, you can too!

HIFI Dudebros, Looking at kopping a pair of Audio-technica ATH-EW9, or some Bose QC15s, or something else portable to listen with. Mainly listening to Punk, Jazz, Electronic-ish easy listening(Massive Attack type stuff), and audiobooks. Any recommendations? I picked up some Bose MIE1s, and just wasnt impressed at all.

I've been a 100% Sennheiser guy for years now, and the most recent pair I picked up were just for listening to stuff on my phone while on the plane or whatnot, so I wanted them to be small & light, i.e.: "on-ear" not "full-size". Your portable headphone budget is quite a bit more than mine - I think I paid like $75 for my last pair and am totally happy with them. There are hundreds of styles & models among the top 5 or so brands, and I'd be loathe to recommend a specific model - you probably hear things differently than I do. If you have a B&M with a variety to try before you buy, I'd go that route.

cnet also has a recently updated best-of list, a bunch of reviews, as well as a guide to choosing the right form factor.
I have had Bose in the past, was a Bose fanboy for a while. But, two years ago bought some AudioTechnia ATH-M50s, and they're honestly amazing. For the price, now, you cannot beat it. Period. They have some models above the M50s now, but man, I'd give those a shot. I'd be willing to ship them to you to try out if you want @Takai

Thanks to all for the support and advice! My wife asked me to read it out and she was laughing it up. Still in the early stages, so I may be in it for the long haul. I can add my own piece of advice for anyone that is taking notes...when she asks you to leave the room, leave the room and don't feel guilty about it. They at least have a free coffee machine which helps since I've gotten only a couple of hours of sleep in the last day or so.

Congratulations. It's an incredible moment. In fact, I'd tell you NOT to stay at the head end. It's quite a unique, mesmerising and humbling experience seeing something you made come into the world. Get down the business end! You might hate blood and goo though so...*shrug* :)

+1 on not being a "pillow guy".

Congrats @HansderHund ! If you're looking for advice, just be positive, encouraging and attentive to your wife's needs. Something wonderful is about to happen!
