Very true Jomp. The real masters were steady hands and invisible. But I was on a bit of a different point (which I know you knew).

Drove 90 miles round trip in attempts to possibly reunite an orphan. It worked.

I find it rather ironic that the most immaculate pair of shells I've ever found come from Milwaukee rather than Chicago. Though I guess the factory is here in the city so....

If you wamt to see what true hand done pick stitch looks like, at the firsy of three places we bumped into each other today, there is an xl suit, grey with blie stripes using dormeuil amadeus. Made by trend custom tailors, dual vent with an ink blotch on the left sleeve. Look at how faint the indent is on the pickstitch, nd then flip the lapel over to see how unneat the overstitch is. That is hand done pickstitching. Anuthing thay indents hard with uniform overlap is almost always machine.

That thing wont move, so it should be there next time you go. The buttonhole on that sample is machine. The padstitch is by hand, so is the felling and the pocket jets.

And if you really want to geek out, find yourself a lapel with hand felling on the back. I wish I'd taken a picture of the back of the Davies and Sons I just let go the other day. Man I loved that thing like a child. There was a poetic beauty to the pin pricky landscape back there. I used to just turn it over and stare at it sometimes during the day when wearing it.

God I'm going to miss that jacket.

That sofa is pretty legit. One of these days, i'll have to get into furniture after I get more basic stuff down.
