1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Hello, noob here to posting, hope I get it right. Started thrifting in Dec 2015, mostly just ties, and then more things in the spring. Came across the site and this thread beginning of this year, and am blown away by the collective knowledge of everyone here, and everyone's willingness to share that knowledge. I feel like I am back in school, have been on one big cram session the last month. I have read this thread completely, and am 3/4 ways through Part 1. Thanks to each and everyone who has posted, I feel like I went from a 3rd grade thrifting education to middle school level, and look forward to continuing journey. Plus, my friends will like me better because now I have a place to share the thrill of the find, which they just don't understand. Here are a few things I have thrifted the last few weeks, probably 25% but I haven't gotten around to taking pics yet. Apologies in advance for poor quality, still working on my camera skills.

Well apparently I screwed up the spoiler part........are you supposed to put pics in box that pops up? I looked for a thread that showed how to post properly, but could not find one that made sense.

They aren't branded in any way, so it's hard to say, but they fit the coat well, so I assume they came with it.

X-post from fake or real thread, only x-posting as it's time sensitive.. appreciate the help as always!

Hi all, could really use your help with these... I think they're legit, and have all the right details, but want to make sure - have RB etching on left lens, B&L RayBan Italy on the upper bridge section, Rayban nose bridge pieces, legit model number/arm stampings, etc.

The main thing holding me up on being certain is the arms - as shown in last photos:

    .

You are very welcome! You wear it well. As I said before, you do a lot to help many of us here (including me) and it was a (semi-random) act of kindness. My stepmother was a wonderful southern lady who could be the kindest mostly gentle lady, but she also had quite a bit of toughness in her. She died 3 days years and she was always telling me how important random acts of kindness are.

A couple weeks ago, Dr. L sent me a Zegna Couture shirt just because it was my size and he thought I might like it. It was an act of kindness and I'm just doing the same. Someone paid for my coffee at aStarbucks drive-thru the other day. The $6 they spent made me smile. So, I thought I would pay it forward and hoped this small gesture would do the same for you. Plus, I'm sure my stepmother Betty would be happy.

Polo jacket for ages 10-12. Designer clothes for children make feel a bit weird.

Mabro jacket. Perhaps a dumb question...is this an odd suit jacket or a sportcoat?

Nice haul! Zegna is real, just an older label. Nobody fakes Robert Talbott. It's a beautiful tie.

What da fuck? A noob @Bon Vivant Life posts those great finds (including Hermes ties that I still have never thrifted!)! I hope most of that was consignment instead of actual thrift. Otherwise, I'm doing this all wrong.

I'm sure you already know, but that EZ is their Napoli Couture line, and I think that Ede & Ravenscroft is gren.

I own a painting company, got called out to bid a house where elderly woman had passed away. Met her daughter who wanted interior repainted so they could put it on market. House was empty except for one room, which had everything left over after family had gone through and taken what they wanted. Daughter told me not to worry, she would have room empty before I started, was going to put it on Craigslist and first person who offered her $200 could have it all. I said, "Let me save you the trouble, I'll give you $200 right now". She refused, would only take $100 from me. Lucky me

Last thing I'll post is the "Libations Bar Cart" from Crate and Barrel, which was new, still had tissue paper wrapped around wheels. (booze not included [IMG])

What was included was the Waterford Crystal ships decanter and 6 Cognac glasses. The DOF's & Hi-balls are RL Glen Plaid lead crystal, those I already owned.

Straight up thrift.....what got me into thrifting clothes was I used to stop in at local GW to grab some books. Was walking out one day and girl passes me with bin full of ties. So I peek in and first thing I see is an Hermes. Then another, and another.....9 total. Also grabbed a few Zegnas, a few Brioni, a Canali, and a Kiton. Must have come from same donor. Went in just an average citizen looking for a book to read, came out a raging thriftaholic.

They look ok, but that RB etching is sticking out too much from where I am. Can you feel it on the outside of the glass?
