I've always wanted to do this but I feel they'd look at me weird... has this worked for anyone else (I'm talking personal use)

I have to quote this. Brings me back to a few months ago where I messaged a seller a BIN price for something very similar, and he came back with this...

    Dear bahljs,

What would you be willing to pay? usually I get strong bidders from Japan on these but I would consider your offer. Les

I then proceed to offer him a very fair, market price.

Below is the listing and the price I got them for [IMG]

I do this all the time. I have one spot I hit daily that I walk in and they just bring me a box of ties and I hang them for them. And get first look of course

I agree and follow the same practices. Machine wash cold, turning shirts and stuff inside out, hang drying, and ironing on reasonable heat can get you a lot of bang for your buck. Wool garments get a brushing and then get hung up; dry clean very sparingly.

How'd you approach them? I feel the approach will make or break it.

Lol, damn that's a good buy!

Edit.. On ties. Well after going in everyday for a month or so I just told the manager I was looking for ties and would gladly help them hang them up if I could take a look. So now if they have ties they just bring them out when I come in and I hang them

I always though the rest of you had problems with ties... I'm set to photograph 23 of them which were all found this week.

Haven't gotten around to checking on his thread for the past 3 days. Impressive finds everyone and Spoo, that Loro is mind-blowing. Also, just throwing in my 2cents on the whole spreadsheets thing, I just keep track of: Item purchased, price purchased for, fees, profit, profit %, and date sold. Nothing advanced but enough that I have a handle on how I'm doing.

+1 to offering to help. Once the staff knows you and you are polite (key) I see them taking racks out and I put everything away. Also put hangers back, have them off the hangers at checkout, Etc

+2. I take shit off hangers etc, and more than once the employee has whipped out a coupon and given me a discount for helping them.
