Anyone recognize or have any thoughts about this? Ultra-cool coat and made in France to boot, but can't find anything about the brand, Imperial Classic Outerwear.

    what's your point again?

that anything can be made of anything? no shit! his tie is made of vicuna.

and yours isn't really anything like his.

Think @marc roberto meant that the keeper doesn't necessarily mean that the tie is Vicuna. Dudes had a good amount of experience with Brioni, as evidenced in this thread and the old one, so I tend to think he's right. Can't really blame @Shanejosephxxx for trying to make sure, makes a significant difference in value - can't really market the tie as Vicuna unless you're sure, imo...

Just wanted to confirm something on behalf of a friend

    Oxxford cashwool.

Is that a certain percentage cashmere/wool or is it just a superfine wool thats supposed to feel softer than wool but sturdier than cashmere (based on some internet research thats what it seems to be but I wanted to see if anyone knew more details)

@marc roberto no, no. my toes are fine just making a point.

i think this is kind of an important problem for thrifters, especially if selling: how do we know what we have?

i remember this came up with a possible vic scarf posted awhile back, i doubt if that ever got resolved but maybe it did. i think it's funny that we'll all basically believe whatever a tag says (and flip as such!) but we sometimes don't learn to corner answers ourselves. the idea of unwittingly dealing fakes gives me the chills and i've thrown out things that i'm 50/50 on before.

let me point out that the yarn on his is at least semi-worsted, but on yours is clearly a woolen spun. his is one color, yours is two. his looks like it has an interlining, yours looks like it might not... all these things add up... to what, who knows? if he decides to sell, how do you authenticate untagged material? if you ask me, it doesn't look like cash. it looks like either alpaca or vicuna. since my opinion doesn't really matter here, i'm calling it vicuna because why the fuck not?

i dunno. just my opinion. it's not really my business anyways. peace!
