How would I know? They were all things I didn't know were good at the time, but I know for sure I've passed on some great stuff, not knowing what I was doing.
All the Tommy Bahama silk shirts I bought
All the RT BOC ties and shirts I kept buying for way too long.

I hate it when you buy something, the seller relists the item sells it then cancels and refund you. [IMG]

    Biggest regrets?
    - All the stuff sitting in my basement that's theoretically sellable but that I'm too lazy/burnt out to actually list. (Mostly stuff not worth consigning - HF, BB, Polo, AE, etc.)
    - RLPL suit that I bought knowing had some issues, but actually had even more issues than I realized, and with which I inadvertently hosed GMMcL on a trade. Had to make that one right and learn a lesson about not getting starry label eyes.

Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt to thrift tickets to my first political campaign rally. I might have to wade through the hordes at CU to get them...

Oh, but best thrifts ever? Damn, there's a lot of competition.

    Seraphin Leather Jacket
    La Sportiva Mountaineering Boots
    1950s vintage Kamehameha Aloha Shirt
    Holubar 60/40 Parka
Trailwise GoreTex Mountain Parkas (his and hers)
Maxwell Bespoke Shoes (two pairs -one monk strap and the other opera slippers)
ETRO Pants (the first good pants I ever scored by thrifting, leading me further down this rabbit hole)

Still don't know enough to know what good stuff I have passed up, but took me a while to start picking up Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide, Billy Reid, and passed on a Mui Mui...sp? because I didn't want to spend time to google it. All shirts so no biggie.

    Best is easy...
Two pair of Cartier frameless sunglasses...still have one pair, Spoo the other (and I have a lifetime supply of ties to show for it!)

Kiton cashmere sport coat...found in a most unlikely Goodwill in town
    .
Luciano Barbera sport coat...which I now know was made by Attolini based on the tag...and Florian is enjoying it now (fantastic suit in trade)

Peruvian Connection full length alpaca coat for the women...turned out to be a good thing!

A Brioni double breasted cashmere sport coat, which ended up being not so popular because no vent!

A couple of EZ suits and its downhill from there!

Most of my "best" are more about the story that the monetary gain.

    Best
    1. Cars I had in high school
Bought an Impreza Wagon for about $2,000. Drove it for a little under 2 years then traded it on craigslist to a guy for a 240sx. 240sx had a roll cage so I immediately yanked it out and sold it. Also came with a set of aftermarket wheels that I sold. Drove that car around for another year and a half and sold it for around $3,500.

    2. Brooks Brothers X Social Primer hunting scene lined blazer

    3. NWOB LL Bean boots at a garage sale that I sold at the nose end of what ended up being the Bean Boot Drought of 2014TM.

    4. 1920's Mercedes Benz Cabriolet Luggage Set found in a barn

    5. Oakley Sunglass Display Case - As a 14 year old kid, the only time I've gotten a letter from a major corporation threatening to sue me

    Worst
    1. All of the generic PRL and BB generic shirts I wouldn't stop buying in the beginning

    2. Anything that, while may be amazing quality, doesn't have a recognizable name or no tag at all. Don't seem to have the following to sell some of that.

    Dem Gold Buttons
    Tom Ford Loafers
Caraceni Sport Coat with Shotgun shell buttons.
    Anderson & Sheppard Tweed
    NWT Loro Piana leather jacket
That pile of NOS engineer boots
    and so much more....

    Regrets?
