Any of you gentlemen want to help me find a nice pocketwatch for a friend to give to the man in her life? I'm checking eBay for old Hamiltons, but beyond that I'm not sure what to do.

    Thanks.

    Funny story.

I spent last week in UCLA for a conference/workshop. Before going I asked Jompso if he could give me some tips for stores in the area. Dude was so nice and gave me tons of info. These workshops last all day from 9-5 so I didn't get time to go out at all, except on Friday when they cancelled the sessions after mid morning. The first store I went to, there was a guy who obviously knew what he was doing, and had obviously cleaned out the store. The store employees knew him, too, and gave him a deal on a suit that had no price tag (I didn't even know negotiating was kosher at this place). Thought I'd send a PM to Jompso warning him about competition in his territory.

And then I see his latest haul posted here.

It was fucking Jompso! I have seen the legend.

Nice work man. Now that I know it was you, I feel less shitty for having missed out on the Gucci scarf and all the other stuff. Thanks again for all the info. After one day of thrifting in the area with the insane traffic and impossible to find parking, I am happy being a country mouse.

I came up mostly dry except for a Paul Stuart staple charcoal suit (40L, I think), and a couple of ties.

PM sent, and I was trying to recall his handle (ugh, how can I both post too much and not post enough?).

Some fleamarket finds. If these were mens I would be screaming graaaaiiils! Alas they fit the tiny japanese woman I bought them of, and not me.. Still had to buy tho, 5$ a pop.

Orslow satin cotton fatigue pants, they look GREAT on, exept I cant close them at all. I wish I had the body I had at 19, they would fit perfectly.

French army pants, from the fifthies I think. Really good looking, very japanese workwear looking. Of all the pants these are the ones I cry the most over as they dont fit me either. French soldiers must have been model thin for realz.

Only found two ties, Hardy Amies and Leonard Paris. The leonard tie is very nice.

These actually fit me, but the question is, do I want to use them? Prettymuch unworn Miu Miu canvas/distressed leather sneakers. I kinda like them but hate them at the same time. for 6$ they had to come home with me.
