Not a lot of great thrifting recently but my pretty serious Yoox haul from their final sale + (possibly a glitch) extra 25% off that happened late last week showed up just now:

    Jil Sander sweater, Margiela coat
    WWM Cincinnati jacket

And also finally acquired some Margiela sidezips for way cheap on ebay this week:

    1. Nice, like the outfit
    2. Jelly of those glasses
    3. Not at all how I pictured you. I have no idea why, but I guess since I don't know where your avatar pic came from, I thought that you looked something like that.

Cot Tam! That's exactly the car I want (though any s30 would put me through the roof), and that's exactly the reason I'm thrifting. Saving up those pennies to get myself a retro car. You're living the life I want, man. Congrats on the purchase!

Realistically though, I'm probably going to build my way up to a classic. Get myself a beat-up miata to wrench on, which will eventually get flipped to fund a future s30.

Excellent. I used to own a mint 1975 280Z when I lived in Los Angeles. Wish I'd brought it back to Europe.

Check Spoo's auctions for matching belt buckle. Might be a 260 or 280 tho...

Any value to "celebrity" previous owners of a suit?

Bought two suits this morning, one tailored for "Mr. Jeremy Paxman", and the other exactly the same size next to it on the rail, so I'm guessing it was his too. 44L.
Not someone that most Americans would recognise, but here in Britain he's very well known. Like finding a suit made for Walter Cronkite perhaps.
He lives about 5 miles from here, and has recently retired from his main TV job so no surprise he might be getting rid of some suits.

The bespoke one is by Norton Townsend of London, an the other is Hackett.
There was third suit there of similar size, but I left it.
Aquascutum navy suit, but was bizarrely priced much higher, and in my experience Hackett sells far better on ebay.

I just started watching that buckle a couple hours ago, thinking of bidding for the heck of it. But this guy needs to buy it much more than I do.
