I read something saying you should purposely leave your pets alone for a few hours because of this, so we've been doing that.

Wrist tube to have a power outage. Nowhere to go. Dark by 6:30. Looks like I'm getting lots of sleep tonight.

One of our rabbits has a cat personality, and the other has a dog personality. Not sure if there's any stereotypical rabbit personality.

Our cat waits at the top of the stairs for us to come home, then runs down the stairs to greet us.

Yes, they know who puts the food out. ;)

I was more playing to the cat stereotype. Our cats definitely need their humans. Our sunny, happy, snuggly DD boy cat in particular.

Just spreading more of that doggone propaganda. Sad.

You really are more than just a source of food to your cat: A study published Monday finds that cats see their owners as a source of comfort and security, too.

In other words, they do love you ... even if they don't show it.

The research, published in the journal Current Biology, found that cats form attachments to their owners that are similar to those that dogs and even babies form with their caregivers.

Get to visit my daughter this weekend on her locked down mesa. Had to get tested first (am negative) and fill out a bunch of paperwork. They are not letting boarding students go home for Thanksgiving and all the day student families have to sign a contract that if they do leave the local area or have an extended family gathering, then their kids will have to quarantine for a week at home and test negative before returning to school. It's working so far, they are 6 weeks into relative normality and have no COVID cases since the kids returned to campus. Testing the whole school population weekly. Downside, this is expensive and I just got a very impassioned fundraising email. It is suggested to kick in another third of the annual tuition.

It's amazing how long it took to get to where this technology was ubiquitous given that the ideas have been in place since the 60s. Home security cameras really just caught on.

A helpful infographic to pinpoint how fucked up you are by COVID lockdown.
