I have actually just removed the finish, so the grain isn't showing, plus there wasn't much grain there when I started. If I just can get rid of the waterstain and use som tan wax, I think I can fix it quite good. Have somebody tried the water + vinegar method?

I don't know about removing the stain. You might be better off to simply make both toes match by darkening the lighter one a smidge. :embar:

Cleansed them conservatively(!) with some vodka, washed it of with a cloth of water, conditioned them with some lexol and let it dry for 30 minutes. Some polishing with some tan wax and they were almost like new, now I must just accept the mild spots as patina and antiquing. :slayer:

It's all about drinking enough vodka that you no longer care about the shooz!

I'll look into that! However, you want to be careful of using anything with a wax on leather goods. What happens is that the layer of wax can get over all of your clothes.
The Leather Lotion is essentially a diluted Renovatuer and is perfect for leather goods, including furniture. Because it's mink oil-based, you get the conditioning but without the waxes that would get over all your clothes.

Thank you for the advice, it looks like that would be the right product. I wasn't aware of it, so it seems I should browse deeper into the Valmour - or your own - website.:)

Ok, maybe to shine shoes, but to think you are going to remove wax with wax is marsupialed.

She did use neutral color wax as slight abrasive to remove old waxes...

Used the water/vinegar method a couple of months ago and it worked pretty well. Good to know vodka works as well.
