Would be a good idea using sand paper to smooth the surface?

I have this cream:

Is it cream polish?

Is this the Bdc cream you refer to?

Thank you.
The cream is the soft polish in the jars (the second picture). If you need to lightly sand the welt, do so before applying the cream.

What I do is then apply the same colour wax on top of the cream, and apply mirror gloss along the heels to get extra shine as I like my leather sole edges to glisten.

But yes, cream polish has the pigment.

Any edge dressing by any brand will do. Fieblings, saphir, whichever.

I have mdo 1925 cream
Yes. Absolutely what you can use.

It's just as easy as applying it to the uppers. Take a small amount on a cotton cloth and smear it on gently. Let Dry. Then buff softly. Reapply if needed.

Yes. You can use any cream polish to restore colour to the welt.

I have used BDC dark brown on my shell strands which have a brown sole edge. It worked fine.

In fact, I generally use BDC cream for everything cream related because, again, I don't really like the MDO personally.

Does any of you know the differences between polished binder and bookbinder leather?

While were on questions, is there anyone here who owns a pair of CJ Islay boots who can offer advice on which colour Saphir cream/polish they think is best for the dark brown scotch grain leather?
