It's a good thing you spend time on a forum, hundreds if not thousands would be lost without you. I'm confident I speak for all of us when I say, please don't ever leave. Your knowledge is surpassed only by your humility.

patrick_b I believe in such a situation you would say ...lighten up :sarcasm:

ps It's not really on when you merge posts, in order to make your point (assuming you have one)

Renovateur- conditioner and leather renewer. Renomat is the cleaner. Good point, now that renomat is readily available in the States there could be some confusion caused by those of us that use Reno to mean Renovator.

Received an email from Kirby at the Hanger Project this morning. Free shipping on all Saphir orders this weekend only.

I received an email this morning that all shipping is free this weekend. Not sure if the offer applies outside of the U.S.

I think they were referring to renovateur, which is a cleaner/conditioner, but many people use as a conditioner.

since the hanger project is offering free shipping on Saphir I am thinking of picking up one of the cream shoe polish.

but I am not sure which color to pick up for my shoes. should i pick up the 04 middle brown or the 05 dark brown? if I am to use the dark brown on my shoes will it darken the leather over time into a nice patina?

here are the pics of saphir cream colors and my shoes. (sorry for the crap cell cam photo)

thanks for the heads up on the free shipping. picked up some of the cloths and the neutral cream polish.

would it be that much better to get specific colors versus just using neutral throughout? I just figured that i could get away using neutral to just help with getting a nice polish on the shoes with no effect to the color regardless of the shoes

I conditioned the insides of the uppers of my shoes today. A yearly pre-summer ritual.

Saphir neutral works quite well. It dries clear and vibrant. Conversely Kiwi neutral is total shite that dries gray and cruddy.

You plan should work fine for now. But you will eventually need to add color back to your shoes - particularly to cover scrapes and scratches. For this you will need cream polishes.

You can do a coat or two of cream followed by wax.
