Maybe your employer has some sort of insurance that covers theft of its employees' property on site? I don't even know if that's a thing, but it can't hurt to ask.

Sure, tell your employer that you spent $1000 for a pair of shoes. That will really be great information for them to have the next time you are seeking a raise!

Depends where you work, I guess. If you work in a normal office, then maybe. If you work in the Corthay store then maybe not ...

After taxes mine were about $1,700 :embar: A coworker actually pried it out of me how much I spent on that particular pair. She almost had a coronary. But we all have our things. She is a supplement junkie. Her desk is like a pharmacy filled with these expensive pills.

I'd try a few coats of polish - thoroughly rubbed in with your finger tip wrapped in a soft t-shirt before I did anything else. That alone may be enough.

If not, then either take them to the cobbler to have them stripped and repolished or get some renovateur and or renomat and try it yourself.

While the scuffs are certainly noticeable, you may get lucky and find that they may just be scuffs in the old wax/old polish. In that case, blending the old layers by adding a new layer of colored shoe cream followed by colored wax may cover them up adequately. It's certainly worth a shot as you can't hurt it by polishing over the scuffs.
