Do flip flops count? Because rainbows are standard issue here in SoCal. $50 gets you years of wear and eventually a beautiful patina.

The handmade versions of those are better made than most shoes in the baller boot thread. Adding a rubber sole is quite unnecessary. They last forever and theyre pretty cheap anyway

These are handmade. I added the rubber soles because of the gym/spa I go to -- the sandals are solid leather and would be a problem on the wet floors. Pretty good quality -- recommended for price and durability

In all honesty I never really liked shoes. Always found them uncomfortable in the sense that my feet feel hot and I hate sweaty stinky feet! I even tried various "cool" models.

Wondering if anyone can recommend any fashionable flip flops or sandals or something that can go with various outfits?

I have some nice leather flip flops, but they aren't comfortable for walking too much, should I get crocks or something? I actually have never worn crocks, I always imagined if I got crocks my feet would sweat inside them and it would feel very weird with the rubber sliding against my sweaty feet.

yes my feet sweat a lot even though I use powder :(

or do I need to just suck it up and powder my feet instead of the shoes and wear a fresh pair of socks everyday?

For extended walking, sport sandal are good. Teva and Chaco are probably the biggest names. I've owned sandals from both companies going back to around 1990, but I highly recommend Unshoes. I have a pair that I've been meaning to post a review of. Like the original huaraches, you can use them for running. They have six different types of sole shapes you can choose from or you can send a tracing of your foot and have a custom shape made. Mine have a regular sole shape with custom straps: the thin straps of the Feather but made in the configuration of the regular Wokova.

I love mine for summer travel or anything sporty in hot weather.

They're really minimalist, so be a little careful if you're used to the usual, thick soles. Here's a pic of to the right of a Chaco flip flop and old ZX2s for comparison of how seriously thin they are:

Welcome to the forum, Jaysek. Yes, you absolutely need to wear clean socks everyday. Powder your feet, fresh socks, and wear shoes. You should be good to go. Best of luck.

What does everyone think of these Keens?

I don't mind them, but then I like ugly shoes. They're not as bulbous looking as most Keens.

I didn't realize they were Keens till the salesman told me. Actually they look fairly sleek there is no bulk to them at all.......unfortunately none in my size.

Any good ideas for a cheap-ish sandal with no toe separater but utilizes some style of sole stitching or nailing? Jutta Neumanns are perfect (esp. when given Birkenstock soles) but I don't wanna swallow $330+.
