Hi Gents...

I wanted to start the official San Francisco/Bay Area thread where we can talk about local events, recommend places (restaurants, shopping, etc) and things to do.

I feel like everyone knows of something cool that we can share and not have to scour google/yelp for.

I'll start.

Shoe repair
1. South city shoe repair, guy's name is jesse has been doing a good job, been going to him for many years.
2. FJ western recommended by several members, i've dyed a pair of shoes there, good service, quick and not too expensive, downside is this is in San Jose.

Grub...
1. Ike's sandwiches featured on food network.
2. West portal sub center hot pastrami is delicious
3. Trule Mediterranean best schwarma in SF!!!

Anyone have recs for tailors/alterations on the peninsula? Not looking to have anything too involved done. Mostly shortening the sleeves on a few blazers and tapering some pants.

In the city, I've been going to Galleria Tailors on Kearny St. as recommended by one of the SAs at MAC, and they've done good work for me. Although it may help to speak Cantonese.

Really need a shoe place in SF. Walking around the city is drastically different than driving around in LA and well, a whole lot of wear on my soles. Prefer recs in the city near BART but nothing south of San Carlos please!
