Definitely more shiny and rose-gold color in-person as compared to the online picture, but it looks great. Nice piece.
The card it came with said it will slowly develop a unique patina with age and wear. I should have it roughed up within a few months time. Lol

I know from an inside source at RL they laid off a huge number of warehouse workers and told them not to open/restock store shipments. So stores are still shipping back product but it won't hit the website anytime soon if it ever does.

I just bought the cotton blend fleece shorts online on 5/27 after they re-stocked a couple sizes and they got to me in 24 hours. The tag had a red markdown and via fed-ex tracking I can see it came from the SF store, so they advertised it on the site but shipped straight from the store.

RRL Friday. Bandana shirt (such a nice piece), natural seeded straight taper selvedge, and the mocs as the foundation

That depends on the fit, right? RRL and other manufacturers make a number of different styles.

I prefer the Straight and Slim fits over the Low Straight fit that feature a low rise.

IMO, The RRL straights are plenty roomy. What RRLs are you talking about here?
They must be the low straight then. I wasn't overly impressed with the denim for the price and most of their denim is "distressed" which I hate, so I never went back.

Yes, they are still shipping from stores. But sadly any inventory send from a store to a warehouse will be in limbo.

Please, somebody tell me, what is the target audience of this piece? When is it worn? What is it worn with?

Similar thing happened to me. The first selvedge I started buying was LVC—'47 and '54 501s—which were plenty roomy. I heard good things about RRL so I picked up a pair at the SF RL store. They turned out to be Low Straights and the short rise never felt right. A year or two later I did some research and picked up a pair of RRL straights that became my go-to jeans for many years.

Nowadays I own a lot of RRL denim—Straight, Slim, Bootcut–everything except Low Straight and Slim Narrow. (I also wear some Strike Golds and Stevensons.)

This Heddel's guide to raw denim might help.

I wouldn't give up on the RRL denim. If you can get to one of the Double RL stores, try on different fits and see what you like. Good luck!
