Any leads on the RRL faded black western shirt released a few seasons ago. They have a faded black workwear model this season but it lacks the snaps and same detailing

Not dressing age-appropriate. To me, he is dressing younger than his years, and it looks awkward. He should be dressing more casual than hipster-ish.

That is my opinion. Thank you for letting me have it.

I think he looks better than 98.2% of the fit pics on the totality of SF. I also think ONLY old men should wear shawl cardigans, so it's perfect.

Non old man with shawl cardigan chiming in ? also that's the striped dress shirt under.
I used to make sure I was following "rules" and what not, but life is too short for that.

I’m sorry - this looks like an old man who is trying too hard. I know he’s an Italian icon, whatever that means, but it just doesn’t translate.
Being old has got nothing to do with it. But, while subjective, I'm with you on the looks. IMO, the shoes don't go with the outfit, the pants are too short here (and I have a thing against rumpled khaki), the sleeves on the sweaters are too long. However, I do like the bandana peeking out under the t-shirt. Just my personal preferences. YMMV.

What is age appropriate? This isn't the 50's

Thanks. It fits like it was custom made but has a faint odor of chemical/dye/mustiness, or it's all in my head. My wife smells nothing. Not sure about washing or exchanging.
Precisely! Apparently you're not a stranger to the habit.??

Not a stranger at all!

In fact, I have a vest in my closet that still has its tags from five years ago. I tuck them in the armhole when I wear the vest.

They've been there this long—might as well roll with it. :)

What a shallow cliché... You think there is an "appropriate" dressing for "old" or "young" people??
Your attitude sounds "old" and with a narrow vision.

I've been working from home for a long time, so little to no changes for me. Prior to buying RRL, I had mostly jeans/slacks and jackets. I've since bought quite a few RRL "casual pants" (most of the athletic variety) and sweaters, and these become my daily outfits.

One of my favorite combo: the Slim Fit Wool-Linen pants (https://www.ralphlauren.com/men-clothing-sweatpants/slim-fit-wool-linen-pant/493738.html), the Wool-Blend Shawl Cardigan (https://www.ralphlauren.com/men-clothing-sweaters/wool-blend-shawl-cardigan/493753.html), and a crisp white T-shirt. These are very comfortable at home, and yet they're presentable enough for outside.

I mix and match the various pants and sweaters, and sometimes swap T-shirts with a few of the RLL short sleeve shirts. Once in awhile I go rouge and stay in pajamas or any random shorts/t-shirt combo. That's my daily outfits in a nutshell.

BTW, it's almost therapeutic to read/post here to have some semblance of normalcy away from the COVID19 news.

Quarantine casual! It's a thing.

Looks like an interesting outfit. Share a photo?

Definitely know what you mean about the therapeutic value of this thread … and it extends to the brand.

Yes indeed. Style is horribly cliche and shallow -- so people who blast selfies of themselves on the interwebs should have thick skin, me included -- :)

He looks like a mismatched mess, to me. And at his age -- yes, at his age -- he'd look much more classic in suede or something less hipster. Again, my opinion, be it shallow, cliche, and / or judgmental -- which is what fashion is.
