I have two pairs of the first run of Julian made black Bowerys and have owned the black cherry ones too. The toe is a little bulbous on the older ones, but the current ones have a different silhouette due to the different maker and look sleeker. I havent been impressed by them, they dont seem like they have any soul to them like the Julian ones did.

I also own the Julian in the black cherry. Great boots. Tons of character, soul. The last is definitely wider (It's wider than my Alden Indy's by quite a bit) but "bulbous" is overstating it. It isn't a svelte Italian boot by a mile though.

I'd love to own them in black as well, but Dave_SFU wants too damn much money for them ;)

Its my backup pair for when my current ones are retired. I wish i kept a pair of black cherry ones. You should post pictures of how they look worn in

You guys are right, the old ones look a lot better than the newer Cheaney (?) made boots. The black cherry color looks so rich, it's too bad they're all gone. Guess I'm going to have to settle with a pair of black cherry GTs or something.

I've got a pair of the current made in England by Cheaney Bowery boots.
They're pretty much the opposite of sleek and are very bulbous.

I got the same size in them as RW GTs.
The Bowery boots are fairly generous in the toe however they're on the short side.

    Pics from an ebay auction.

Saw the boot in store at Beverly Hills and SA even said I should just get the lindrick come private sale when he was showing me the bowery. Boot looks ok at some angles, really bad at others. Last was a bit funky too

I bought, and returned, the Bowery. The boots are beautifully made and the leather is lovely. But too bulbous for me. I have size 12 feet though which may make a difference.
