Wasn't there a suede bomber last summer ('12)? Pretty sure there was but I don't remember it having front chest pockets like that.

Ok, so I picked up two pairs of the rigid slim fits, one from silviob and one from polo.com. The inside tags as well as the leather patch were different, one was almost distressed suede with long fibres (silviob), the other had much shorter fibres. However, the most noticeable difference to me was the denim. The pair from silviob what lighter and much less stiff while the one from polo.com was heavy, stiff, and slubby, which is what I would typically associate with Japanese denim. Also the selvage on the polo pair has a darker red thread that is more spaced out when compared to the silviob pair. They both say Japanese denim on the pocket bag but I'm guessing they've changed producers?

I also picked up the Jackrabbit Red Chambray in medium which fits great. Having bought two pervious RRL work shirts I thought I would end up returning it due to the fit but I was pleasantly surprised. Do all the RRL Chambrays have a trimmer fit?

Along with the denim and chambray I picked up two jackets which did not fit me properly, too short and wide. Both fit very similar despite one being a small and the other a medium.

I also picked up a RRL peacoat on eBay for a really good price, love the quality. Too bad it's a large.

Which ones did you buy from polo.com? The website says all the slim fit rigids are made from American fabrics. Maybe they sent you an old one. Do they have back pocket embos?

    On the site it says:

"For best results, wear 90 days without washing. Dry clean or wash inside out. 100% cotton. Made in the USA from imported fabrics."

I thought "imported fabrics" meant Japanese denim. No back pocket embossing, only the "RRL" on the coin pocket.

Has anyone picked up/seen the Lewis Patrol Chinos? Thoughts on fit and quality? Any actual pics?

RL fits in general are so hit and miss. Also website pics sometimes misrepresent the item, color, distressing, or little details are sometimes off, maybe they take pics of samples. Always paying for return shipping is so inconvenient.

Also, I have a NWOT Black Officer's Field Chino in 32x32 if anyone in Toronto is interested in trading/buying.

    Hey,

I recently purchased my first pair of RRL denim in a black selvedge raw Slim Fit denim in a 30 (sized down 1, usually a 31 in most jeans). However, these are quite tight in the waist, I can barely get the top button up, I think I should leave it unbuttoned. Is that normal? I'm hoping they will stretch as much as Naked and Famous jeans. They fit perfectly through the legs, and somewhat on the thigh just a bit tight Do you guys think I should stick with these and hope they'll stretch atleast an inch? or should I return them for a 31 which is TTS?

    Thanks

They aren't going to stretch much, go TTS for the black on blacks it's cut a lot slimmer than normal

Okay thanks! I'm just stuck between sizes cause I've read so many people size down atleast 1 or 2 in RRL jeans.

So are they keeping the Japanese denim another season(s) or is that old stock leftovers?

It's redundant to offer 2 Slim Fit Rigids simultaneously.

RRL changed the rigid fabric a few seasons ago between 2 different versions of Japanese denim. What you have is probably these versions. I personally preferred the earlier fabric before they moved to the slightly heavier, slubbier version of the Japanese fabric.

The new Cone Mills Rigid is slowly filtering through the stock system. I know the store in London has some sizes in Rigids in Cone, some in Japanese fabric. I guess it will take time to work through all the older Japanese stock. It will be interesting to see how the cone will wear after a few months wear.

That's weird, I bought my girl a pair of Raws and she's normally a 26 which is the size i bought her, but she wanted a 25 because of the waist & the way it made her butt look but the thighs were too tight lol.

Kept the 26 for her, the denim will adjust as the wear & tear will.

Here's some pics of the Lewis chinos for those who requested it, sorry no fit pics I don't have a full length mirror. Fabric isn't too heavy an has a nice texture to it.

This was mentioned earlier in this thread but got lost in the shuffle. But, does RRL still make the jeans in that oxblood red of a few years ago? Haven't seen it in some time.
    TIA

The one you posted was slim fit straight which I believe is their new fit. The one stu posted was slim fit. The new model is confusing and I wish they never made it.
