You wouldn't happen to be the ebay seller listing old RRL hang tags that someone posted about a long time ago?
I wonder if they're lowering the weight of the fabric to make them more 'comfortable' or if it's strictly a cost saving method. Dollar to yen ratio explains price hike, but not sure how much more expensive it is to produce 10-11oz vs 9.23oz. It sucks to see the selvedge officer chinos fabric become flimsy like this. The only selvedge chinos I own is one from a couple years back without the red line in the selvedge as well as the orchard st buckleback trousers, both are of excellent quality and should last a very long time since I only wear them occasionally.
Maybe soon they will also start charging more for larger sizes because more material is used. It's also a shame there are less and less selvedge shirts being made also to cut costs at the expense of authenticity.
that was the first thing i thought've when i saw the post.
don't want to provide real tags for free when i can't be guaranteed that the tags aren't being used to sell counterfeits or used items as new.
I am serious about the collecting part. But these are for my personal interest only *not* for potential counterfeiting or whatnot.
I'm inspired by such creative things. Shane Cranford (http://www.workingformorework.com/journal/2010/6/10/ralph-lauren-hang-tags.html) has a great little collection. Sometimes the tags are better than the clothes.
Well then that's too bad, some bloke was selling dozens of RRL/polo tags for like $2 on ebay a couple months back
I noticed PRL and RL'67 made some of the more beefy hang tags over the years. RRL hang tags are typically nothing special.
Yes, I agree. The RRL tags aren't terribly creative, but many of those PRL tags are really thoughtful.
This is a prime example of a beautiful tag. And the vest's not bad either.
Yeah saw that posted today, looks stunning. Anyway, if i see any cool tags lying around in my room in my parents home (probably won't make an appearance there until after April 17th) I'll PM you and send them over, i generally keep most tags, but for no apparent reason other than hoarding.
Is tag porn a thing now? If so here is my contribution:
I have a boot box or two if youre interested
Well, I must say that all of this tag & box porn is really giving me the horn...
Speaking of boxes, i had a guy return a pair of boots to me last week because the box had a grease type stain on the bottom of it (like someone put a french fry down on it).
@Dave_SFU - PM sent.
