Here are a few quick pics of the Northbend Work Pant. Hope this helps!
this jacket is awesome!!! I would love to have one but i don't got that dope.
btw, mr porter carries RRL? or that's ur pants?
Hey, thanks. I need some feedback to help decide.
On the pants - they are Rag & Bone, but just got them from Mr. Porter, as you could tell! I didn't notice the tag was showing until later. The pants are the Blade II. I think Mr. Porter is sold out, but I saw them on Barney's website, too.
the jacket matches the scenery
does anyone have experience w/ RRL chambray?
i'm wondering how this one fits (below - light chambray buffalo western)
XS in RRL sometimes fits me well, and it sometimes is a little baggy, depending on the season
In general, the westerns fit pretty slim in the body and normal in the sleeves. Best bet is to email RL customer service for measurements.
Hey kmd, that's definitely a nice jacket. I think the puffy body looks fine since it's a bomber style. The sleeves could use a bit of taking in or maybe it's just the cuffs that are a little too wide which kind of throws things off.
The sleeves look that way because they have knit cuffs hidden inside.
I think I've finally accepted that I need to size down on my Orchard St selvage buckleback chinos. I haven't worn them at all because they're a little too big, even post-alteration.
Ever since Ralph purchased Filson, I've seen this plaid pattern showing up quite a bit. It's basically a vest that's patterned exactly after the Filson vest, sans the shotgun shell pocket. You can get these on ebay auctions for anywhere from $50-70 shipped. I think I paid about $60 for mine.
Here's an example (though the size is huge). A little patience will pay off:
Have they been washed yet? Mine shrank quite a bit in both the waist and inseam.
wow had no idea ralph owned filson. makes sense looking at how similar both pieces look
Filson is owned by Brentwood Associates.
I did try giving them a hot soak, with little results. Did you put yours in the dryer?
Sorry, only had half the story right. It's my understanding though that Filson shares patterns with RL because of Williams' relationship with Polo:
Yeah I ran mine through the dryer as well.
RRL version of the FIlson mackinaw vest does have shotgun shell pocket. Saying they are are re-using a pattern is a bit of a leap. Any patents on the original patterns have long since expired. They are just like any other repro brand where they will re-do vintage items with updated cuts
