IMHO navy or maybe even maroon laces.

I'm about to pull the plug on some 34x34 Low Straights (1 wash) on eBay. If anyone here has any they're trying to get rid of let me know before tomorrow morning... it'd be muchly appreciated.

I know this has been debated to death in other threads...but I'm primarily interested in the opinions of regulars in this RRL thread as it relates specifically to RRL distressed jeans.

Issue: I'm finding great deals on pairs that are a little too long.

    Question(s): Will hemming them with original hems;

    -Look close to the original?

-Will they lay/drape/etc. as they did before being hemmed?

-How much of the result is a function of how good the tailor is?

    -Any other considerations??

It's admittedly a fairly noob question, so appreciate the info...

    Thx.

I don't know what it's like in Chicago but if the deals you're finding are very good you could get them chain stitched. I've done that several times at Blue in Green in NYC - you walk in and it takes 5 minutes (or less).

He's talking about distressed jeans though not raws/1-washes. Original hemming never looks or drapes right, no matter how well it's done imo. Best to just buy a pair that is the right length to begin with.

^^^^Yeah, distressed hems. 30 inseam is perfect but all these 30 length RRL slim fits are actually 31.5 and just a bit too many pancake stacks with butter and syrup for my tastes.

I guess I could just have them lop off the originals and attempt a my own hem creation with sand paper and bleach and all that....

    Anyone ever try that?

I'm still looking for this specific cap (any colorway is fine), size Large. Anyone seen one in the current seasons being sold in RRL shops right now?

    Thanks.

I ordered this Denim and Supply cap in the hopes that it might compare favorably to the very similar RRL cap that I'm after.

After receiving it, I'm definitely going to return it. The timeless wool herringbone is actually 35% viscose. Construction is generally less finished / fine, with a poorly constructed elastic back and unfinished seams along the inner circumference. Ah well...

I actually had them do it to my Momotaro's - the Grand Indigo Selvedge (which had a crazy inseam on 38"). They did an awesome job but it was $30.

I was going to pull the plug on some low straights in a 34x34 so I'll head back there next week at some point and get them chain stitched too. I figure if I'm going to spend money on denim I which is awesome in the first place, I might as well get them altered as best I can. I'll post pics as soon as I do it.

Oh, and I think I found my new dream jacket. Does anyone know where I can find this...

    [IMG][IMG]

    A: In a Large
    And
B: without the $2000 price tag?
