i have an important piece of info to share! if the serial/upc/whatever code on the tag starts with a 4, you just bought GIRL JEANS. if it starts with a 3, you have a men's clothing.

thanks psa over

I'm assuming this isn't the RN number given on the cloth tag as all my jeans start with 4 and are defintely not womens jeans. In some cases, though, this is the only number given.

I just checked 6 different styles of RRL pants. This method works, but it only works with the PSR stickers from the outlets. It does not apply to the original RRL tag. For those of you familiar with the outlet sticker, this trick works if you're looking at the number ABOVE the UPC.

Again, almost every original price tag I looked at had a number starting with a 4 above the UPC. The trick only applies to outlet price stickers.

There's no way I've kept any of those tags or stickers.

For any of the current Ralph Lauren RRL items, the RN number should be 41381. I've only ever seen a few pieces with a different number and they were the vintage RRL stuff. If for whatever reason you want to know what that number actually refers to, read this

Wouldn't the direction that the fly faces be a dead giveaway to the sex of the jeans?
